excellent grill pan for burgers and steaks
I was wary of getting a cast iron grill pan, but decided to go ahead and give it a try because I needed something decent for grilling meats. Of course it performs really well for that purpose: you get even heat over the whole surface, and it doesn't take unusual skill to turn out perfectly made burgers and steaks. That wasn't a surprise, the concern I had was about cleaning, especially getting burned food out of the grooves. Well, what do you know? If you season the pan properly (I did, following the Lodge instructions carefully), cleaning is a breeze. For anything stubborn I use a Lodge scraper or a stiff nylon brush, and I get a perfectly clean pan without a lot of effort. I am now a fan, and can easily recommend this as a wonderful item to add to your kitchen.

Pan was well wrap and box. I really like how wide my grill is , My pressed fill well in this pan. It is just perfect for what I needed!

Flawed, & second one
This was my second one & both had issues of rust & bubbles, though the 1st had a hole in it. Not something a customer should have to deal with when it nears $90! Plus, I don't drive, I'm older, & I wasn't happy walking 30min carrying a cast iron pan to the post office to return it. Very upsetting & I'm very sore now from having to walk far with a heavy cast iron pan!! Uhg!

I love my veggies grilled!
This cast iron grill pan works all year round, inside or out. Grilling on stove inside or the grill outside, this is a perfect size and weight. It leaves grill marks on whatever you cook. So asparagus and other veggies, or hamburgers and hot dogs, or a special steak, it will give a very uniform cook...and keeps things out of the fire. I gave this as a gift, and it has been well received.

Large 10" X 10" cast iron grill press is a perfect fit for this grill
Have not used grill yet but like the looks.I want to share the fact that a 10" X 10" CAST IRON GRILL PRESS (mine is a Cuisinart) is a perfect fit for this grill. If you have an obsessive streak as I do, you will love the fit and look.Very pleased with this combination of grill and press. Can't wait to try it.
