A good book for kids
I got this because my grandson wanted to learn to cook. He showed me this on Youtube and so I ordered it. We made a stew recipe and it was really good. There were things in it I thought he might not like but he ate it and went back for seconds. He has always wanted to cook with me so even when he was younger I would pull a chair up to the stove and give him a cutting board and let him help chop things. That way I could teach him safety and he was a part of making dinner. He is more likely to eat it if he helped to make it. He is particular and for a year all he wanted to eat was steamed broccoli and then he discovered sprinkle cheese and would add that to his broccoli. Thankfully he will now eat other things as well.

Great book!
I gotta say I'm impressed with the quality of this book! The book itself is textured, and has nice art throughout. There are measurement conversions, dietary considerations listed for every recipe, a page on what tools you may need and what they do, AND describes kitchen terms for true beginners. On top of this, the wording is very down-to-earth. Instructions are straightforward and descriptions are read as if someone is casually telling you in layman's terms how to do everything.I appreciate that the recipes in this book aren't just aesthetically on theme, but are fundamentally the same food as in the game. Nothing in the book looks especially difficult to recreate either. Most of the food are everyday things we common folks make too, like breads, burgers, cake, and drinks.Pros:- Quality book- Good art & game symbol usage- Helpful conversions & advice- Easy to understand wording- Realistically doable recipesCons:I genuinely haven't found any real issues with the book yet.

Fun, Delicious, Inspired Recipes. Perfect for Minecraft Fans.
This cookbook is a great way to get any Minecraft fan into the kitchen! This cookbook is fun for Minecraft fans, but it also contains incredible recipes. (I've made seven recipes from the cookbook and plan to make many more.)The author did a fantastic job theming the recipes around every aspect of Minecraft, from the blocks to the mobs and, of course, the in-game food.At first, I was disappointed to learn that recipes for several in-game foods are not in the cookbook (Cooked Chicken, Beetroot Soup, and Cooked Porkchop, to name a few). However, after reading the cookbook, I was happy these in-game foods were missing. Instead of including recipes for every in-game food, the author created inspired, original recipes that all connect to Minecraft. For example, there are recipes for "Golden Apple Pie," "Dragon's Breath," and "Blocks of Redstone Brownies." These examples are much more interesting than a recipe for, say, "Cooked Chicken" would be.Nevertheless, there are plenty of recipes for in-game foods, too, including "Suspicious Stew," "Potion of Night Vision," and "Cocoa Chunk Cookies" (one of my personal favorites). (If you want more in-game food recipes, the author also wrote an unofficial Minecraft cookbook before this one!)The official Minecraft cookbook draws in readers with recipes for classic Minecraft foods. However, it hooks them once they see all the other creative recipes it offers.

Basic but fun recipes
I wanted to love this cookbook but the recipes are very basic although the theme is fun. For example the roasted crops are just roasted carrots and beets. Many of the recipes are like this. But, there are a few that are fun and creative like the inventory bread. Overall if you love Minecraft you will enjoy this but you could get many ideas from Pinterest as well.

Such a cute and fun cookbook for a Minecraft fan!
I raced to purchase this cookbook as soon as I saw the ad for it and patiently awaited its surprisingly speedy arrival. I was overjoyed when I unboxed it and flipped through the pages- the book has a nice quality feel to it and the pages and theming of the book is really nice!In addition to the multiple recipes, there’s unit and measurement conversions, markings for different dietary restrictions, meal plans, and spots for your own notes in the back of the book. It’s Minecraft font throughout and there’s a lot of little nods and jokes towards the game that I enjoyed.I do want to let you know that the book doesn’t have recipes from the game (aside from “The Cake” which I was really excited about!), but it’s more so a bunch of Minecraft inspired recipes, with some being more grounded in the game than others.I’ve only made a few of the recipes so far, but there are so many in there that just look delicious and I’m dying to try and make when I have the time and resources!
