Amazing sound and features
I bought this when my old Sony surround sound finally gave up. I had around £1000 system but couldn't get that again. This system boasted a 3d bluray player, all speakers and a woofer. All that made me think each component would be quite cheap but I couldnt have been more wrong. The woofer and speakers sound great and do a great job all the way up to full volume. Don't get me wrong at full volume it's great indoors and you are only just going to be able to annoy your neighbours but it's not capable of ear blistering volume. The cables are that long so I've bought my own and run them under the carpet. I had to cut the wires too as it had its own connectors. The system is great and with one touch on the remote I can send music from my phone with Bluetooth. The wifi has been handy too as I can use amazon instant streaming on it too aswell as other services. For the price you get so much functionality and the quality is great.

It's better than people are making out...
Felt compelled to leave a review after reading many other comments on here and responding to various gripes people have about it.Fan noise - this is barely noticeable honestly, people are making it sound like a wind tunnel but after the first 15 mins you just tune out from it, it's very faintSound quality - honestly, the people who have complained about the sound quality of this must be used to some seriously expensive Bang & Olufsen hardware, because the sound quality of this system is comfortably enough for the most casual user. Yes a sound engineer would probably rip it to shreds, but in that case don't buy a unit for £199. Speaker levels are fully adjustable (which someone said they arent, they are) bass is strong from a modest size unit, speakers crisp and clear and it goes damn loud too. No complaints from me, it's pretty much as good as my outgoing Sony unit I've had for 15 years which cost £1,500 new.Cable length - surround speakers come with 7m of cable which for many people will be plenty. People who have huge living rooms need to recognise this before they buy and get a wireless speaker unit, again don't expect a £199 unit to be everything to all people. My lounge is average size and they reach just fine. You'd need a darned big room for these speakers not to reach under the carpet/floor.Startup time - again some serious hyperbole on here, people make it seem like startup time is long enough to cook your dinner in, it isnt. I've noticed startup around 30 seconds from cold which yes might get annoying it i want to crack the footy on quickly, but honestly is it worth spending an extra £100-£200 on a more powerful head unit just for a few seconds? Nope, I don't think so either. Also has good connectivity unlike other similarly priced or even slightly more expensive units, i.e. some from Samsung. Wi-Fi, NFC/Bluetooth, this is a decent spec list from a sub-£200 system. If you were expecting more, don't be so tight-fisted and pay for the unit you 'need'. I find it hard to believe this system doesnt offer what 95% of users would be more than happy with for the money.Overall made up with this, good product

Reasonable cinema system for a low cost
I purchased this to replace a 1990's Aiwa AV stack system and I am generally impressed with its functionality for this low price.Pros:Lots of functions including DVD/Blu Ray, FM Radio, Optical Digital Input (e.g. from Satellite or TV), USB, Bluetooth, Streaming Services (e.g. iPlayer, You Tube), Analogue Audio In.5.1 surround, Dolby Prologic, DTS Neo 6 and moreVarious sound modes (not available if it Pro Logic or other surround modes except 5.1)Reasonable subwooferVery good picture quality even from older TV recordingsThe Media Service using a PC or Laptop is excellent and works over WiFiCons:Claims to be 1000W RMS but I am doubtful as the old stack system was a mere 200W and is easily as powerful if not more powerful than this system. Some services do not work without registration to Sony, however the web address it gives is not valid. The FM radio can only be used with its own supplied wire aerial as it has a unique plugSpeakers are all hard wired so if you need to extend any cables the cable has to be cut and joinedSignificant Issues:'Sound Mode' which provides full 5.1 digital surround reverts to simulated surround when a non 5.1 source is used. It must be noted that only a limited number of HD programmes on Freeview are encoded to this standard. Other programmes are produced equally amongst all speakers (and sound awful). Programmes in full 5.1 are also very low in volume compared with normal Stereo broadcasts on this system which is really irritating when adverts come on. I have found that it is better to use another surround mode such as DTS Neo 6 which work well on all Stereo broadcasts and provide a reasonably accurate 5.1 surround on most occasions. However this mode prevents any other sound enhancements from being available. When using it with a Youview box via Optical Cable the cinema system will often loose audio (particularly after channel changes or time-shifting). this can only be restored by changing the box to another function and then changing back to 'TV' mode or placing the Sony unit in Stand-by and then restarting. I am unsure if this issue is due to an issue with the Youview box or the Sony cinema system.
