Well worth seeing if only to see how it ends.
I came across the trailer for this film on another blu ray, looked interesting. Now I have seen the film I'm not so sure it is as good as the trailer. Don't get me wrong, it's a good enough film if a little perplexing at times. It start's slowly & builds up & up, has a few surprises & a good twist.

started well
It all started well and was promising but the ending!! plus it went a bit too far and unbelievable..the twist may have been a good thing except like i say it went a bit too unbelievable so that is why i give 3 stars..I don't want to give too much away but she slit his throat so she just somehow had a sewing kit down in that cellar and sewed his neck up and got past the cop upstairs ..then got him into a lockup..plus why did she want to be free then when the other guy came and found her she then got the seth to kill him..just so she could enjoy the kill..some sick parts too .did not like the dog being put to sleep..and feeding the dead guy to the dogs ..not really for me this film although i watched until the end just to find out what would happen but it could have been so much better..

“I was in the year above…” [Seth]
In this 2016 psychological thriller, shy and socially awkward Seth develops an obsession with a waitress he sees on the bus one day. Advised by colleagues to be confident, Seth extensively researches her online profiles and tries to ask her out but what happens when she rebuffs him? This is quick to set the background [under 15 mins] and creates a growing [and somewhat sinister] stalker atmosphere as things begin to go awry and the real story kicks in. I found the two leads played their parts well and there are some good plot twists and changes of direction but this never gets into top gear, although it does maintain a good pace throughout. It reminded me a lot of ‘Julia X’ and ‘Neighbour’ but is entirely different to both of them. The single disc opens to 2 trailers then offers play, scene selection and set-up [5.1/2.0]. Rated 18 this does contain some swearing [including F & C word] but it does suit the situation. There is little direct violence [for a horror] so fans of ‘Saw’ etc may well be disappointed, but there are squeamish moments. If your looking for something a little different, this may well suit the bill.

Two very strange puppies
What a weird weird film. Basically you have two weird af mofos who the writer tries to out weird you with as the film goes on until it becomes too unbelievable. I think that's pretty much it in a nutshell. Some parts got my attention, other parts I was scrolling through Facebook because it got a bit boring. It's a long, kinda slow burning psychological thriller, not a standard horror movie although there is some gore. Decent watch but I think 3 stars is fair enough

Pet needed to restrain its implausibilities with both a leash and a cage.
Pet needed to restrain its implausibilities with both a leash and a cage. Subversive thrillers that purposefully twist genre tropes are always welcome. Those that attempt to push boundaries, testing the limitations of the viewer's mind. Pet does just that, which is why I should've liked this. Unfortunately though, its mediocre execution and completely absurd plot twists hinder what was a decently captivating premise. A lonely man encounters an old school friend, quickly becoming fixated on her. His stalker-like behaviour rapidly ascends to the sociopathic as he kidnaps her and locks her in a cage. This first act of what should've been a promising claustrophobic thriller was well constructed. Monaghan's awkward performance substantiates enough creepiness to acquire your attention. Tension was slowly rising, if somewhat predictably at first. The mood was tepidly eerie and the stalking felt unsettling. Then we arrive at the second act. A simple but effective premise becomes lost in favour for unpredictability. The twisted "the abuser becomes the abused" theme has been explored before, with varying results. The major problem with this film is with the lack of character development and two ridiculously mentally unstable individuals. So messed up that any actions felt derivative. Relying on implausibility to make unpredictable twists does not make an engrossing thriller. It loses all tension and focus, making it a bland experience. From expositional hallucinations to chopping off a finger in the name of love. Nothing feels captivating. Which is a shame as the two lead performances were committed and intriguing to watch. The concluding ten minutes gets back on track slightly, although the final minute was stupidly unrealistic. However it's probably more exciting to just go out and walk your dog. That feels more real atleast...
