Just what I was after, but expensive!
*UPDATE* To be honest, you can do this alot easier and cheaper with cup measures. I bought some plastic colourful cup measures and they are way easier to use. Just dish up one 'cup' for protein or leafy veg, and a half a cup for carbs and other veg. Its considerably cheaper and easier.Have to admit its somewhat overpriced for some plastic but it does exactly what you want it to do. Fits on most dinner plates I have, even slightly bowled shaped ones. You'd have to have tiny dinner plate for it to not fit as some reviewers have suggested. It would be helpful if they provided guidelines as to how much (half cup or full cup) for each 'type' of food you need. I assumed a full cup each for a main meal for UK adult at first but its actually 1/2 cup of most things, even veg, and only a full cup for leafy veg before cooking. If it were cheaper to buy, it would be great to put on each persons plate before dishing up as you tend to serve up each thing seperately, ie. rice, then curry, etc. which is prohibited by only being able to afford one. I tend to use it to measure before cooking and then dishing up normally. Easy in a couple as you just split the portions in half! The price could be significantly cheaper as it has p&p ontop, and its not cheap to start with, BUT, for the education it has given me in how much I was over-eating its worth every penny. No doubt I will be losing considerably weight using this from now on!!ps. some people asked how to use this with casseroles or pasta bakes as it was dividing - I just used it as a dry measuring device, and added that to the bake/casserole. So then I knew if I had cooked a casserole for 4 people, I could just split it 4 ways and know I wasn't overloading plates despite it not being able to be put in its individual 'portion pot'.Love this!(although a measuring cup might be a cheaper option.... but there is a tendancy to 'cheat' and add just a litttttttle more to the plate/over-round the spoon!)

easy to manage your portions using this.
This fits nicely onto a large plate or bowl. I am sorry I never bought it sooner, it is so much easier than weighing food all the time, especially vegetables. I usually weigh my meat/fish and then have a small portion of vegetables but this way I can be sure I am getting the correct amount of vegetables and it is a good way to control your portions.I am not sure why but I thought the bottom was white and closed, I hadn't realised when I bought it that it was open on the bottom but it works great and then you can just lift it off after you have put your food on the plate.Inside the holes are marks for half portions as well so very useful indeed.I wash it in the dishwasher and it comes out nice and clean each time. It is a bit bulky to fit in the cupboard.I would recommend it to anyone who struggles to manage their food portions but it is also a good way to put the food neatly onto your plate as when you remove the red control plate, the food looks neat on the plate too which is a bonus.

Excellent little tool
Excellent little tool. I have a tendency of putting too much on plates. With this Meal Measure, I get it right every time. Ideal too if someone is trying to lose a bit of weight for the summer. The only thing is that there is no guidelines or chart with it, but it is quite easy to go onto Google and search : meal portions and you have a mine of info on how much you should put on your plate. I also have the portion plate, but I find this better because the plate is not suitable for microwave. With this, you just measure the food on any place plate and warm it in the micro if need be. Maybe the title is a little misleading, it is not a portion control plate, it is a portion control tool. Oh by the way, it is measured in cups and half cups. So you know, not in oz. Personally, I would have preferred oz but well, it does the job well enough.

Pleasantly surprised by sturdiness
Quick delivery, seems sturdy too which is great. Haven't actually used it for portion sizes yet but it's quite deep so think it will be fine!

Simple to use portion control gauge
I really like this product, I needed something simple to use to encourage portion control but that didn't make me feel like I was dieting. This product literally couldn't be simpler to use, literally just put it on your plate, dish up and go. Perfect. Easy to clean as well & dishwasher safe, it is quite big though, I was quite surprised, each portion space is a measuring cup size (marked at 1/2 cup size as well)

I can't complement this enough, I never realized how ...
I can't complement this enough, I never realized how much extra starch I was eating until I received this meal measure.I knock off one star as the price is heavy though in time the price will be nothing compared to the body results I'm looking for.Smaller meals and more meals if necessary, instead of one massive amount of food in one intake.
