Orange wood...
Had to send this back as although it sounded ok the wood looked cheap and shiny. I have bought this chime before (though not from Amazon) and it was gorgeous. A big difference.

Beautiful sound
Beautiful sound from this lovely well made chime. I would agree with another review about the chime being off-set from the wood mounting block but i don't think this affects the working of the item. 10/10

Used for meditation where it works well.

I LOVE IT!
The only warning, which I wish I had known, is that this chime is the same sound as WhatsApp notification. I use this as a quiet signal in class (1's close your mouth, 2nd, stop what you're doing, 3rd eyes and ears on me). Some of my students are a bit immature to deal with that...Otherwise, I LOVE IT!!!!!
