Review: Good Reliable 4-Port From Anker. I Would Recommend. - Anker have become a reliable brand in most ventures they are involved with these days, whether they are speakers, PC peripherals or power banks. I have a tonne of peripherals connected to my home laptop (which has limited USB ports) so this extension allows me to place another four. It is a simple plug and play device with incredible ease of use. Just plug it into one of the USB ports and then add the peripherals to the four new USB plugs at your disposal. The build quality is great and Anker have done well to give it a little bit of a funky design with some blue highlighting. There are no light indicators to determine that it is working, but in all honesty these are not needed. The cable for connecting to the PC is quite short, which is actually more of a blessing rather than a curse as the port stays very close to the laptop. I need more wiring in the same way that I need more facial spots before a hot date. The port is well made, subtle and has decent build quality - most importantly is works well and connectivity to your peripherals works as it should. Great product at a reasonable price.
Review: BC250 USB perfection - If you have jumped down the rabbit hole of building a custom budget console using the ASRock AMD BC250 mining motherboard, you already know it is an absolute beast for the price. Snagging 16GB of shared GDDR6 memory and RDNA 2 graphics on a cheap board makes it the ultimate platform for a DIY Bazzite Linux or SteamOS machine. However, it does come with one massive, glaring headache: the physical layout and lack of easily accessible I/O ports. Once you assemble everything inside a small form-factor case, the two standard USB 3.0 ports on the back are immediately taken up by a basic keyboard and mouse. This leaves you completely stranded when you want to expand your storage or connect extra controllers for local multiplayer. That is exactly why I picked up the Anker 4-in-1 USB Splitter Hub. I needed a clean, dependable way to extend my storage capacity and open up connectivity without dealing with constant disconnections or bottlenecking my game loading speeds. This little hub plugs directly into one of the rear USB 3.0 ports and instantly splits it into four full-speed slots. The primary job of this hub in my setup is managing my external game library. Anyone building a BC250 machine knows that formatting high-capacity external drives in SteamOS can sometimes be finicky. I have a high-speed external SSD permanently mapped to the Anker hub as secondary storage for larger titles. Even during extended, multi-hour gaming sessions when the drive is reading massive texture files, the hub performs flawlessly. The data transfer speeds stay incredibly stable at 5 Gbps, meaning I do not experience any of the micro-stuttering or lag that usually happens with cheap, generic splitters. What I appreciate most is its rock-solid reliability. In a console-style setup, the last thing you want is a device that drops its connection mid-game. A temporary drop can crash your game or even corrupt your Steam library files. This Anker hub has never failed me once. It handles the data load seamlessly, even when I have the external game drive running alongside two wired arcade controllers for local co-op play. From a practical design standpoint, it fits into a minimal living room setup beautifully. It is incredibly compact and lightweight, so it tucks neatly away behind or right next to my console case without adding ugly clutter. The cable is sturdy but flexible, and the connections plug in with a very tight, reassuring click. If you are building an affordable console around the BC250 board and need to easily fix your missing port problem, this is a total no-brainer. It is inexpensive, durable, and handles a heavy gaming workload perfectly.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great quality product from a well known brand.
*by A***M on 24 November 2021*

There are cheaper USB hubs on the market however I always like to purchase from known brands when using anything to provide power to any devices. In my use case, I am using this at work to power several items, notably a Raspberry PI, Amazon Echo, and two Lightning Cables to charge instore devices. It is receiving constant power so it is important it is safe and reliable to be left on whilst nobody is present. The design is nice and sleek. The finish of the product is smooth and ergonomic and the quality is very good. The cable length is more than adequate and can of course be extended easily enough with an extension cable if necessary. In my instance, this is fixed to a frame in a permanent setting however if you were travelling with a device and needed a portable USB hub this would be more than sufficient for your needs. It is lightweight and takes up no space at all so would easily fit in a laptop bag or a pocket with little to no impact. The device has no mounting points. In most instances I suspect this would not be an issue but would be handy if it came with some way to mount to a desk or surface. In my permanent setting I popped the rear cover off and used two slim profile screws to attach to a frame after using a countersink to provide seating. After covering the screw heads with electrical tape I was able to pop the body of the device back onto the cover which I had screwed on allowing the unit to be permanently fixed. Although this is not ideal it suits my needs. Due to the slim profile there is little space within however the slim profile screws do not affect the functionality or contact the main board. The electrical tape is simply to remove any risk there is a risk of shorting out. Obviously, this would void any warranty on the device.
