I would class this Breville as one of my best buys. I didn't want to spend a lot on a sandwich toaster because I was unsure whether it would get used very often so I searched Amazon Resale (formerly called Amazon Warehouse) and found the Breville Sandwich/Panini Press & Toastie Maker advertised as in new condition and with a decent price drop. The fact I could do several different types of toasted sandwich appealed to me, another big plus was it did not cut the sandwich into triangles with the proverbial inedible hard toasted edges. It arrived and was in indeed in as new condition and was put into service later the same day to make a simple cheese toastie, which was a great success, no tooth breaking hard crusts just a very nice edible cheese sarnie, since it's inaugural outing it has also produced numerous and varied filling Panini's with great success. I did read somewhere the suggestion that it was great for also cooking bacon rashers, well, of course that theory had to be tested @ next use. In all honesty I was not overly impressed, although I will say it is quite capable of cooking bacon, however it does not generate enough heat to produce a nice crispy rasher, resulting in a rather anaemic looking piece of bacon which required the employment of the grill to finish the job. So in conclusion I would say, unless you like anaemic bacon that is, don't bother trying to cook anything except Toasties & Panini's which will not disappoint. It is also very very easy to clean, just let it cool down and wipe any spills with kitchen roll then wash the plates with a cloth & some washing up liquid, rinse and wipe off any soap, dry with paper towel & store. Once it has been washed I place a paper towel between the plates to absorb any residual damp & protect the plate surfaces, there is a sliding lock on the handle & a bit on the underside to wrap the cord around. It is almost 1 year since I purchased this item and I have no regrets, it is a good quality item.

his Breville 3-in-1 Ultimate Snack Maker really delivers. It works well as a toastie maker, waffle maker and panini press, heats evenly and the removable plates make cleaning effortless. The unit is compact and easy to store, and the build quality feels solid for the price. Good value for money if you want one appliance that handles all three functions. Recommended.

Good item. An improvement on an old Breville sandwich toaster. Not as well built but more efficient and better size for slices of bread. Cleans easily when cool and plates removed. An added bonus is that you can interchange the interior surfaces. The toaster seals well but there is a bit of side movement in the hinge so be careful when fastening the clip on the handle.

I’ve been using this Breville Sandwich/Panini Press & Toastie Maker every single day since May, and it hasn’t disappointed once. It heats up quickly, makes perfectly toasted sandwiches in minutes, and is incredibly easy to use! No complicated settings, just plug in and go! The stainless steel design looks sleek on the counter, and it doesn’t take up much space, which is a big plus for my kitchen. It’s also easy to clean, and the 3-slice capacity is perfect for making quick lunches or snacks for the whole family. If you’re after a reliable, compact, and efficient toastie maker, this one is a winner.

I’m not much of a cook, in fact I’ll I do anything to avoid it. It’s the messI hate for what would undoubtedly be an inedible meal. Toasted sandwiches are easy but my antique toasted sandwich maker is covered in unidentified (probably cheese) debris. Not very hygienic. So, I was browsing Amazon for something completely different and spotted this. The fact that it was supposedly easy to clean with non-stick plates sealed the deal. Now I’m overwhelmed by possibilities. No more white bread cheese toasties with soggy ends for me! It’s paninis all the way! I’ve made every possible combination and they taste great. You can also cook other things on the hot plate like sausages, eggs, bacon, and I’ve even tried a steak. All good. Being ultra picky: the cord could be longer and the plates are so hot the outside of the bread cooks quicker than the filling. These can be managed. Most importantly they really are easy to clean. The leakage is minimal, so a quick wipe with a cloth is usually enough to leave it spick and span. With all the possibilities for edible foods this sandwich maker is great value for money. Just think about how much you would pay for a panini in a cafe or pub! Above all this is a great buy for the lazy non-cooks amongst us.

Does the job, generally an acceptable product. Possibly a design fault, it doesn't have it's own power switch, hence need to disconnect from the mains every time after use.

One star to seller. The toastie maker itself is amazing. But the plug is for UK only. I’ll replace it by myself, but it’s better to find out about these nuances from product specifications, not when you unpack the parcel

This is the second identical toaster that we bought. First one bought back in 2013 and still going strong. we bought second one for our summer house. We do extensive research before we buy appliances and identified this one back in 2013. We were so happy that we never hesitated buying a second one 12 year later. If you like burn marks (lines) on your toasted sandwiches this is not for you. But toasters that make these lines have grooves that you have a clean. This one thankfully doesn’t. It is super easy to clean and as a result the coating of the plates lasts for ever. It can also toast paninis of various sizes and shapes (half baguettes, squares, buns, bagels, etc.) without issues. It can even heat up the occasional burger (cooked the previous day) if you so wish. It can probably cook some raw food items but we don’t use it for that. Bottom line: if you need a versatile toaster/grill that can toast/cook lots of things of different shapes and sizes, be easy to clean and last for ever, this is the one for you. These attributes are more important to us than cable length or presence of a switch (who cares: just remote the plug, or if in the UK use the socket switch). If you have extremely specific needs (needs to fit three square sandwiches side by side, or you need lines, etc), you may want to look for a different one.

Extremely Disappointed – Not What I Expected from Breville I had high expectations from this Breville 3-in-1 Ultimate Snack Maker (VST098) because I've had great experiences with Breville products in the past. Unfortunately, this one has been a huge letdown. The panini press does not work well – sandwiches come out unevenly cooked, and the toasty function is even worse. The bread never browns properly, no matter how long I leave it in. The results are bland and underwhelming, definitely not what you expect from a premium brand. Honestly, I feel like I would’ve been better off buying a cheaper alternative – it might have performed better than this. I'm also frustrated because due to travel, I wasn’t able to test the product right away and now I’ve missed the return window. I wish there was an option to return it or at least receive store credit. This product did not live up to the Breville name at all. Extremely disappointed. I did not want to give even 1 star.
