Fab set! I'm fairly old - 65 and been drawing and painting all my life. My go-to sketching pencils are Staedtler Mars Lumograph - the best in my opinion.I ordered this set to try out for my arty granddaughter . Although she is young - only nine - I want her to have good quality materials to work with as rubbish can put even someone with skills off a medium for good - it did with me and coloured pencils until I found my 'grown up' ones!I needn't have worried - I tested them against my Staedtler ones and I can find no discernable difference. Which means all the other supplies in the case are, to all intent and purposes, free.I'm ordering another set for my other granddaughter and may well buy the set in the wallet for myself! :D

The pencils are decent quality, can't speak for the charcoal ones as I have yet to use them (I do think having them in the set is awesome though, gave me more reason to buy it). The sharpener worked really well too. I was a bit disappointed to realise the case is not a proper storage case, it's just packaging. The picture was a little decieving and I assumed part of the price was having it come in a basic storage box. However I would probably buy it again because it is a good set for beginners and even non beginners looking to resupply.

I brought this set as part of my daughters birthday present. She's decided to take art at school and this was ideal. She loves all the different pencils and finds them easy to use, her shading has improved and I think this is because of the variety of pencils. Lots of different effects can be achieved with the charcoal. I would recommend for an artist starter kit

If you are looking to create sketches or detailed drawings then this set has all you need. The pencils range from 8B to 5H and there's 2 sharpeners enabling you to keep both pencils and charcoal tips nicely pointed. I bought this as a prime member and it was discounted. I can't fault the seller or the set as both are top class.

I'm a complete beginner to anything art but have completed my first art course where I have only been using acrylic paints. I wanted to try something else and this pencil set looked great for what I was looking for .It's perfect .It arrived quickly and well packaged and a welcoming email from the supplier.I have a long way to go to achieve anything amazing but with this set , I'm sure it won't be long before I'm happy with what I can achieve .

Complete art set at such a fab price , i have bought this set for my daughter who has found a love for art. My eldest son also loved art and i have bought him sets in the past not quite as big as this one from WHSmith and they have cost a lot more than this one did .Looks well presented so it makes an excellent gift too.Highly recommended for any budding artist .Even at the full asking price this is money well spent and will keep my daughter happy for many many hours

Bought for my 12yo daughter who is an artist and it is the best thing I've got her according to her! She loves them and spends hours sketching people and horses and landscapes and she'd getting really quite good!It's a nice set, well presented and has everything she needs in it. Very happy.

They are only lead/graphite pencils but if you do or want to try to draw they have the full range. However they look good when you get them but not made to be as useful when opening them. I think they are somewhat expensive so would investigate others. I haven't used them so can't say if they are well made or not as yet and I wouldn't get them for beginner anyway. Get more advice for them and limit what you get so you can understand the use of using pencils.
