This thing is amazing. Keeps my missus quiet for hours and hours I've bought her four more so she can continue to be quiet for along time

Stunning result if you're patient and have attention to detail
This sat in the box for a year before I attempted it. When I did get around to opening the box I was shocked to see how intricate the design was and how little paint came with the set - a series of tiny, numbered paint pots and one extra black pot. I am not a painter and didn't really know how to work with paints, but I am artistic and like a good craft project. So this is a review of how I found this set, and what I found useful in tackling it.I worked on it for around an hour a day over the course of 2 weeks. It requires patience, a steady hand, really good eyes (magnifying glasses in my case) and attention to detail.I was amazed that the paint was more than enough to complete the canvas and have plenty left over. [I never used the extra black pot]. All I did was (lightly) dampen my brush before dipping into the paint. All the paints were still 'good', though some went on easier than others. The lighter cream colours were more frustrating. If you moistened the brush to make the paint go on more easily, this watered down the colour somewhat so you could still see the numbers and required more than one coat to cover them. Alternatively, not dampening the brush meant it was harder to spread the thicker splodges of paint.I didn't find the 3 brushes included particularly useful, so used my own. I completed most of the canvas with just 2 brushes and needed an additional finer size for the deer's chest area.Due to the fine detail, most of the numbers are difficult to read. As well as the numbering on the canvas there is an additional sheet of paper with the design printed on it. Annoyingly it is smaller than the canvas size, so not that much easier to read. However, the print is clearer, so I would photograph sections of the paper version and zoom in on the photo to read some of the numbers.I worked on the canvas in sections, rather than hunting out all the places with the same number. Certainly, it was more satisfying seeing completed sections rather than random colours. Starting with sections which had bigger areas of one colour helped me get used to the paint consistency before tackling the finer, more detailed areas.I definitely recommend leaving the deer's chest area until last. Not only is it insanely intricate, but it is the lighter paints predominantly. Especially ludicrous when it's just the 2 lightest colours in the central part of the deer's chest. In the end I gave up sticking to the design, which I had followed religiously up until this point. It was just too difficult. So I went rogue! I painted this area in the lighter colour and then freestyled the detail with the darker colour(s) over the top. Having gotten used to the paint, design etc I now had the confidence to do this. You really can't tell.I really enjoyed the process - very relaxing. The result is super impressive. But I would have preferred it to have been a larger canvas.

Recommend it!
I waited until I was finished to review this . I loved it, I purchased it so I would have something to do during lockdown and it’s worked! I would do a little every other day. The end result it lovely! I’m going to put it up in the office as it brighten up my walls. I’ve got plenty of paint left (and I didn’t skimp on using it on the painting). Quick drying paint which really good, as if you are like me and like to move around and find different spots to do things, this is helpful! The paint brushes look and feel basic, but surprisingly they’ve kept very well! (Lost of few hairs but not major to impact).

Great value for money
This parcel arrived a little damaged, however there was no real damage to the contents inside. You get everything in this set that you would need in order to complete this paining. The variety of colours are all labelled clearly, however a few stickers had fallen away from its dedicated place. The painting itself was very clearly labelled with numbers and the thickness of the material was very good. It wasn’t flimsy at all so didn’t crumble away or get soggy. It was very sturdy and easy to paint. The selection of paint brushes included was also very helpful. Overall, great value for money and a fun hobby to help pass the time!

Good
Really enjoyed doing this painting. The only thing is that the paint brushes weren’t great quality so I actually ordered some more to get the best out of the painting. Plenty of paint provided with quite a bit left over. Can’t wait to get my next paint by numbers to start. The canvas is great quality. Came as a nice looking painting kit so would also be nice as a gift for someone who you know likes painting or is up for trying something new

Looks really nice when finished
I purchased this paint set and a cat version and they are both nice enough to hang up. Looks exactly like the example. Very happy with it.
