Dial M For Murder [DVD] [1954]

This has to be one of my all-time favourite A.H Movies. I have a Hitchcock box set but this title isn’t among them unfortunately so I’d put this one on my mental must-get list since forever-a-go. I have no negatives regarding the visual reproduction of this DvD but the audio was a wee bit timid I felt and had to whack the volume up a fair bit on the telly. However that’s no big deal and certainly doesn’t detract from the pleasure this movie still gives me, even after all these years and however many times I’ve seen it by chance.I know the acting does get a tad iffy at times, but for me, that just adds to its character and I feel it can still hold its head up against Hitchcock’s other classics like Rear Window and Frenzy. Ray Milland, Grace Kelly and Robert Cummings, under the direction of the Master himself, make this an hour and three quarters of delicious suspense.Don’t be without this one in your collection.

excellent classic thriller still good classic

I so enjoyed this film, brilliantly directed with practically the whole story being filmed in one apartment. It is always a pleasure to watch the divine Grace Kelly and the rest of the cast was captivating as well.Interesting special features as wellNice surprise to find the film was in colour too.

This was a gift, but ended up watching it with recipient. We enjoy watching old films anyway, but this film was particularly good both in style, actors involved and twisting storyline. Highly recommend.

This DVD is a vintage Hitchcock with his trademark sophisticated plot. The casting of Grace Kelly and Ray Milland was a touch of genius.The role played by Milland in the film was brilliantly portrayed, and he showed the depths of his acting ability. His character was rather cunning because if he'd have had his way then Grace Kelly, who played his doting wife in the film, would have hanged. By contrast Grace Kelly's character appeared to be naive and was unaware of her husbands evil intentions. It was also evident that she was manipulated by her husband this became apparent during the police investigation.My overall impression of this film is it is a must for all fans of Alfred Hitchcock. I also feel it will appeal to viewers who enjoy well acted, classic 1950's thrillers.

Great movie, good quality

A brilliant movie I loved every second of it. The whole cast were wonderful. They do not make them like that today.

Dial M for Murder is another brilliant movie of the great director Alfred Hitchcock.I am a big fan of Alfred Hitchcock and I have seen all of his movies. This movie is one of my most favorite thrillers ever and everyone has to buy and see this movie.I was very happy to find this movie on Amazon. I live in the Netherlands and a lot of movies aren't available here. Besides of the comfort and great service of Amazon, this dvd release is also a very nice one.I recommend everyone to buy this movie!
