Idiot-proof!
I'm fairly handy, but concrete and mortar drive me nuts - I never seem to get the mix right, and my troweling skills leave much to be desired. Much to my surprise, I've had great success with this stuff! I used it to patch some holes & cracks in concrete steps (with a complete resurfacing for color consistency) as well as parging a bit of brick at my entry door (to get a smooth, paintable surface after removing some rotten wood trim). Directions are clear and detailed. It mixes well, sets up nice with a decent working time, and looks great when it dries. I did all my work in small batches, since I'm such a concrete klutz, and you can't tell where one batch starts and a new one begins. Definitely google tips & techniques for patching concrete, that helps, and also there's a "rub brick" you can get to take down any high spots or screw-ups. Vertical surfaces are challenging, but totally doable, if you pre-wet the surface and add a tiny smidge more water after letting the mixture kick off for 10 minutes, per instructions. Will post pics when it's done!

Solid product. Very solid. Concrete even.
Time is the ultimate judge here, but it mixed well, went down as expected, adhered well, and is solid once set up. For my application, it did the first part of the job as good as can be. I wrote this review because some people said it dried and returned to powder. After misreading the instructions myself, I would bet those people also switched the 1:4 mix ratio the wrong way. You need much more mix and not as much water. Other way around won't work.

Slate patching
I purchased this to re-set a few slate stones that had come loose on my front steps. Easy to mix (be careful not to add too much water) and reasonably adhesive, and it seems to have set these stones back in place very securely. It is very light in color, so if you are seeking to match aged mortar, you may want to explore a coloring agent. I feel I got what I paid for.
