What type of chlorine should I use

I just use those chlorine tablets you can buy at Walmart

Do you need to add chlorine or any other chemicals to the water?

Any outdoor indoor pool will require a pool chlorine puck. I recommend the pool puck floating chlorine dispenser. It holds 5 pucks and will self regulate the chlorine. Don't need any other chemicals. Also get a pool cover it saves water, keeps the pool warmer, and keeps the chlorine from evaporating.

How narrow is the 15 ft pool at the top?

I'd estimate between 13-14 feet. Great pool, didn't survive my large fireworks display last year. I plan to buy another though.
