Great resolution for the price, quick to power up and use. Very reliable so far. I wasn't sure about going for the camera-style form factor rather than the more traditional pistol grip type device, but it seemed good value to gave it a try. As it turned out, it works very well, is very easy to use. Spent a lot of time researching the different brands and models and this one seems to be remarkably good value for the resolution it offers, and it does indeed work very well. Very sensitive. Just power it up and within a few seconds you get brightly coloured thermal pictures combined with the outline of the image from the 'real' camera. It is amazing to see hot and cold water pipes glowing in the walls and floors. I bought it to try and locate the source of a leak and it looks as if this one job will more than cover the cost of the device - within about 5 minutes of powering it up we could see the path of a hot water pipe embedded in the floor that looks as if it runs right through where the leak appears to be coming from. We thought the pipe ran behind the shower and were about to take the shower out, but this device makes the pipes litererally glow, we can see there aren't any in the wall where we thought there were. Fantastic bit of kit.

Easy to use and provides excellent results

This thing is very expensive, but it sure is worth the money. The screen is very clear and everything works spot on. Will be trying this out in the woods for some ghost hunting, and general usage.

What a superb bit of kit let down very badly by the user interface.It claims to have wifi built in - it does but what they don't tell you is that you cannot connect to the device via wifi from a PC.It claims to have a USB Type-C port on it, it does, what they don't tell you is that it is not compliant to the USB standards in that you cannot charge the camera from another USB TYpe-C port, it will only charge from a USB Type-A port. Not only that but the Windows Viewer App (supplied by HIKmicro) doesn't connect to the camera either through the USB Type-C port (though they claim the next release of firmware will). This means there is no method to get the data off the camera to a PC. Why would anyone release a product you can't connect to?- Later Edit. The camera will connect and appear as a USB memory stick which then allows the photos to be transferred off the unit.

Below is my previous review I had written for this item. Since posting that Hikmicro reached out to me in a matter of days to resolve the issue. They very kindly replaced my camera for a new one with no questions asked. Very top service.This was my original review before they resolved it.....'I purchased this item a year ago and it worked fine. After using it a few times it sat on a shelf for 11 months. I recently went to use it and it's totally dead and wont even charge, and no charge indicator coming on. I have used a few different usb-c charges and cables and no joy with any of them. I tried contacting Hikmicro and they directed me to contact the Hikmicro Amazon store, but I can't find any contact details fore them anywhere here on Amazon.I'm hoping by writing this review somebody from Hikmicro will get in touch with me to resolve my issue as I have no other way to contact them. Fingers crossed and I'll update this review if and when my issue gets resolved (on not).Hikmicro, please contact me!!'

I purchased this camera for home use as I’ve recently moved into a new build property, found it worked really well for finding hot & cold sports around windows & door frames. I researched well before I purchased and I’m really happy with my purchase.
