Machine works BUT...
good for small hard to get to places where your traditional walk behind trencher is simply too big. Chains kinda expensive as well. But machine does work.

not for utility construction
it is good product idea with a huge flaw , the price for chains are way too expensive?thats why i had to put it to rest .i have a utility construction business, and i wanted to use this product to burying service lines,in hard ground chains are gone in about 600 to 800 ft ,for a chain price set on 200+ dollar it is taking a long break in the truck.yeah it makes it easier but for those chain prices i wouldn t recommend it for drop guys or utility construction guys .I bought it over a year ago and went thru probably 6 or so chains ,now it is just sits on the back of the truck ,if they would have chain price around 100 dollar ,i would probably start using again and probably go thru 20 or so chain a year .And i don t like that they took down their parts page online which now it is another comp i need to call to just get parts, which u would understand how annoying that is especially when you are on the phone with companies, clients, vendors all day.still will work for sure if u are doing irrigation systems ,outdoor lighting or project around your house

Works like a charm. Highly effective
Works like a charm. I was impressed as how effective this it. Cuts thru the ground like butter, got it done much faster than I expected. I expected would be super heavy and hard to operate, went much easier

I would not buy another one again!
avoid this product!bought a year ago, and after every use i had to get it repaired. we contacted the rep in California, he said ship it to him (at our cost) even though it was under warranty. and it would take 4 weeks to get back! so far we have spend 500 fixing it and I plan not retiring it. it cost too much to have driver take it to mechanic and back for every time we want to use it!

What to know before you buy a GRO RIPPER
We’ve had our Geo for a year. A big surprise is how fast you burn thru a chain. My suggestion are as follows.Run the saw at half throttle if possible I noticed it helps the chain last longer. In really really hard soil or rocky soil do not use it unless you don’t mind changing chains. We found a local welder who “refurbished” our old chains. It’s half the price and the chains he crafts work better than the OEM chains.

GREAT piece of equipment!
I actually got the GeoRipper 620 modelDoes what it is supposed to do. I got it specifically to cut through bamboo rhizomes so I can install some barriers to keep the bamboo under control. Hindsight, yeah, but this thing makes it easy enough to put in the barriers, then stamp out the rhizomes that are going places I don't want them to do. Oh, and by all means, buy that EZ Kart. It makes it so much easier to use this thing that it isn't even worth thinking about. And fyi, the guys selling it are GREAT with the customer service stuff. Emails I have sent were responded to usually in under an hour, no matter what time I sent them. Anyway, HIGHLY recommended if you need a tool of this nature.

Junk!
Piece of junk! The chain’s teeth are not hardened and wore down completely in 50 feet, nothing was left. A new chain is several hundred dollars to replace too. Long story short I burned through 6 chains in less than 800 feet. The sales rep tried to tell me the soil was too hard. This was the sales pitch he used to sell me this machine. I ended up demanding my money back which he did. I did not buy this on Amazon but I needed to leave a review..
