Great for kids. They have air holes and great magnification, but the lids are not secure.
I got these instead of other similar bug magnifier/Catchers because they have some built in air holes. Many of them do not. However, I was sad to find that the lids do not stay on, they just set in place and would fall off if moved in any way. This does not work as well when you have small children trying to inspect the bug up close—which I believe, is the point. That said, I simply put a few drops of glue from a glue gun on the inside of the lids. This created a gummy friction that keeps the lid on unless intentionally removed. It seems to be working pretty well. The kids have had a blast with them. They collect bugs, flowers, leaves, and all kind of things in them to magnify. They are perfect for a nature walk or play in the backyard.

Gets It Done
Overall this is a good product. It's sturdy, the plastic is clear so the insects can be seen well, the size is perfect, and the magnification is an added plus. I use these in our program with kids of all ages as well as adults, and they hold up well. The only bump is that some of the lids are not snug so you have to be mindful of holding the lid in place when you are using it - which really hasn't been a problem, just something we noticed. I have tried quite a few different types of 'bug boxes' and I am very pleased with these; we will continue to use these as we expand out program.

I can't believe they are an "Amazon Choice"
The lids to not tighten on the jar. They basically just sit on the top. When you try to screw them on, the lid just goes round and round! They are too expensive to not have a lid that will screw on when a child is observing a bug. Do not waste your money. I'd return them but I'd thrown away 2 of the boxes before I discovered it.

Lid comes too easily
I like that they're clear and easy to use, I dont like that the lid doesnt screw closed and can fall off pretty easy... scary when you have a stinging bug in there.

Fast delivery.
Tops are not screwed on so you have to make sure that you hold the lid on.

Not wort it
Unfortunately, the lids never stay on. It is a hassle slightly unsafe. If you turn it upside down, following the movement of the insect inside, the adult has to keep its finger on the lid at all times. Just crappy

Where’s that bug?
My only disappointment is they don’t lock shut. So if u capture a spider and it knocks over, he’s gone probably roaming the house because that’s where your kids bring them.
