## Description

Kathrein EXIP 418 SAT>IP Server / SAT2IP Converter (4x DVB-S/S2 SAT tuner inputs, max. 8 participants, Gigabit LAN, K-LAN, DLAN, POWER-LAN, WLAN integration via router, TV/radio live stream) The SAT>IP Server EXIP 418 "translates" television signals from satellites (DVB-S and DVB-S2) into the IP world for use on internet-based devices. This enables satellite television in the best quality even on devices that do not have an integrated satellite receiver (e.g. tablets, PCs, etc.). Satellite signals can be transported over any IP infrastructure with or without cables. Can be fed into various network types: LAN (also K-LAN, Power-line), WLAN integration via router, e.g. FRITZ!Box Streams DVB-S/S2(HDTV) signals from up to 8 channels simultaneously into an IP data stream.

Review: Cuidado se tiver um sistema Unicable II (EN50607)! - Este dispositivo SAT>IP funciona muito bem para sistemas com um LNB Universal, LNB Quattro e com um sistema Unicable até 2 posições/satélites. Com um sistema Unicable II (EN50607), que permite até 4 posições/satélites, há questões que podem ser melhoradas a nível de firmware/software. Num sistema Unicable II (EN50607), só é necessário definir quais os canais das User Bands (bandas de utilizador) que se pretende utilizar para o sistema e o dispositivo automaticamente obtém as frequências para as respetivas UB. Contudo, isto só funciona bem quando o dispositivo está ligado a um LNB ou a um multiswitch Unicable II. A partir do momento que se combina LNB ou multiswitch (conforme o sistema da imagem em anexo), o automatismo deixa de ser capaz de obter as frequências para as UB. Como é óbvio, isto acontece devido ao fato de não se conseguir controlar 2 dispositivos Unicable II, num mesmo cabo coaxial, em simultâneo. Para isto, as frequências deverão ser definidas manualmente. Também existe a questão do PIN em cada UB que este dispositivo não contempla. Durante toda esta investigação, estive em contacto com o serviço de apoio ao cliente da Kathrein que, como descrito em algumas análises aqui, é muito franco, limitando-se a dar a informação técnica do dispositivo e informando que não serão desenvolvidos alterações ao firmware. Em suma, se adquirir este dispositivo para um sistema com LNB Universal, LNB Quattro e Unicable até 2 posições/satélites, ficará bem satisfeito com o mesmo. Se adquirir para um sistema Unicable II, terá de ter em consideração as limitações que o automatismo traz e se o mesmo será compatível com o seu sistema Unicable II.

Best unit we ever bought

Este dispositivo SAT>IP funciona muito bem para sistemas com um LNB Universal, LNB Quattro e com um sistema Unicable até 2 posições/satélites. Com um sistema Unicable II (EN50607), que permite até 4 posições/satélites, há questões que podem ser melhoradas a nível de firmware/software. Num sistema Unicable II (EN50607), só é necessário definir quais os canais das User Bands (bandas de utilizador) que se pretende utilizar para o sistema e o dispositivo automaticamente obtém as frequências para as respetivas UB. Contudo, isto só funciona bem quando o dispositivo está ligado a um LNB ou a um multiswitch Unicable II. A partir do momento que se combina LNB ou multiswitch (conforme o sistema da imagem em anexo), o automatismo deixa de ser capaz de obter as frequências para as UB. Como é óbvio, isto acontece devido ao fato de não se conseguir controlar 2 dispositivos Unicable II, num mesmo cabo coaxial, em simultâneo. Para isto, as frequências deverão ser definidas manualmente. Também existe a questão do PIN em cada UB que este dispositivo não contempla. Durante toda esta investigação, estive em contacto com o serviço de apoio ao cliente da Kathrein que, como descrito em algumas análises aqui, é muito franco, limitando-se a dar a informação técnica do dispositivo e informando que não serão desenvolvidos alterações ao firmware. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ läuft ohne Probleme

Ich nutze den ECXIP für TV-Aufnahmen oder direkt zum Fernsehen auf Tablets, Handys, Desktop-Rechnern und bin damit sehr zufrieden. Der SAT-IP-Server ist bei mir bisher rund 1300 h / 1,5 Jahre ohne irgendwelche Probleme oder Störungen gelaufen. Eine besondere Konfiguration der Tuner in EXIP ist nicht unbedingt notwendig, bei mir lief der SAT IP-Server gleich ohne Veränderungen der Einstellungen. Die ganze Konfiguration der Satelliten und Sender erfolgt bei mir über TV-Headend in einem Container auf einer Synology-DS 220 - NAS. Als Frontend nutze ich dabei (unabhängig vom Betriebssystem) immer Kodi; das klappt mit Android-Geräten und Windows-Rechnern problemlos. (Apple-Geräte habe ich nicht im Einsatz). Auf der NAS kann ich problemlos mehrere HD-Sender gleichzeitig aufnehmen oder sehen; getestet habe ich bisher 4 gleichzeitige Aufnahmen von verschiedenen HD-Sendern ohne Probleme. Voraussetzung ist dafür ein schnelles Netzwerk und bei mehreren, gleichzeitigen Aufnahmen ein schneller Speicher. Bei ausreichender Netzgeschwindigkeit ist auch das Fernsehen unterwegs möglich, sofern die NAS für den externen Zugriff eingerichtet ist. Zuvor hatte ich einen Xoro-IP-Tuner im Einsatz, welcher bei meiner vorgenannten Konfiguration gelegentlich Probleme verursachte, die Ursache habe ich allerdings nie herausfinden können. Zusammenfassend möchte ich erwähnen, dass man sich etwas mit Netzwerkkonfigurationen und SAT-Einstellungen auskennen sollte, damit es von Anfang an problemlos läuft. Es gibt aber auch genug Info-Material und Videos im Netz, welche die Installation erleichtern. Ich hoffe, dass die Infos hilfreich sind! Meine Umgebung: Netzwerk: 1 GB-LAN LNB: Fuba DEK 584 (Einkabel am EXIP angeschlossen für 8 gleichzeitige Tuner) NAS: Synology DS 220, Speicher: Kingston Enterprise-SSD Backend: TV-Headend (im Container auf der DS 220) Frontend: Kodi
