The Heart of England

I liked the layout, collection of topics, and the quotes from literary greats were beautiful. I especially loved the short chapter and associated pictures of the Bronte family.Some of the pictures seemed to be unfocused and fuzzy…not sure if that was intentional or not.Finished the book in one day, enjoyable, but short read.

Journaling

As a fan of Victoria - and most especially of the first 16 years under Nancy Lindemeyer's editorial reign - I was delighted with this book, recapping some of my favorite "armchair vacations" to that wonderful country. Let others dream of exotic adventures into deserts and steaming jungles. England is the destination for many of my fantasy itineraries and this book helped me appreciate the both the variety and "essence" of England. I heartily recommend it for those who enjoy "all things English", or even just a pleasant overview. It's going into my personal library - instead of being donated to our public library (which is my usual practice once I've read and enjoyed a book)

I purchased this for my anglophile 16 year old daughter. She devoured this accompanied by a pot of tea from her new English tea service and afterward with glowing eyes said, Mom you MUST read this! I notice that she has it displayed in the sitting area of her bedroom.When I decided to buy her a book on England, my first choice was to find something by Victoria Magazine. They always do these types of books so nicely, with much visual delight and meaningful content. (And yes, selfishly, I was buying it for me too.)

I just bought this book and rate it above "Our hearts are in England". It's well written, informative and the photography was sharper and more beautiful.

I got this book because I have been in constant disappointment ever since VICTORIA Magazine ceased production. I found this book not quite as good as their "Heart of France" book as this one features a lot of photos out of the magazine and could have been a little more interesting. Having said this, if you loved VICTORIA you will want to have this keepsake.
