Hi, There built zipper chains on bottom, which makes this large camping backpack's capacity expandable . but no extra straps for sleeping bag.

Q: Can a motorcycle helmet fit in this?

It should be able to fit, although a large full face helmet might not if its larger than 12 inches in diameter.

Q: Is the material waterproof?

Yes, there is waterproof coating on material of this item hiking daypack, it can keep your stuff dry in rainy day, even in storm.

Q: With internal storage and external molle, will this fit a sleeping bag and a tent alongside other required camping gear?

I would say no, unless the tent was very small, for one person and the sleeping bag a very thin, compressible one (down?). But you need to carry a sleeping pad, food, at least some water, changes of socks and underwear. MAYBE if you were just going for one or two nights, no stove or fuel, had access to water etc. This is NOT a backpack camping bag.
