Short, Sweet and to the point
Oh my! Anyone who has the desire to understand and read the Tarot, this is an amazing launching point. I have read many books on Tarot, while trying to learn its system and origin. Everyone should read this amazing book!

Makes Tarot Feel “Approachable”
I’m a huge admirer of Bakara, and the Everyday Magic shop and team. Discovering the shop and it’s team, I have been motivated and inspired to “get back to me”. Part of this is delving into Tarot as I have wanted to do what seems like my entire life. Bakara makes this seem not so intimidating. I really enjoy the realness of this book as in the way it is written. The description of each card is written in a way that will really help me get to know and understand meanings of each card.I do wish the book had a little more “duh” notations and descriptions for a newby like me (such as some of the interchangeable card names like “Pentacles are aka Coins”). She does a great job of this when discussing the Court Cards...just wished it was carried through talking about all groups of cards.I also wish there was ((something more)) when explaining how to pull cards, different spreads, etc. I have a hard time trying to phrase exactly what I felt like I needed from the book. This is my first real dive into understanding Tarot so maybe I just need someone to hold my hand even more than how this book already does?!?This is really my first time really trying to learn about Tarot even though I had a deck growing up and it’s always lingered in the back of my mind. It feels like jumping back into the dating game or maybe even switching jobs, and having a friend introducing you to a room full of great new people and every one of them are open, approachable, and willing to teach you about life.Update review: I have several “how to” Tarot books and last night I discovered one of Bakaras card interpretations (King of Cups) is vastly different than what I’m reading in my other sources. So now I’m just more confused and questioning validity on all sides.

maybe even just as a fun life advice book goes
As far as tarot goes, hell, maybe even just as a fun life advice book goes, this is everything.Listen... I loved this book so much, in a crazy life changing way, that I read the whole thing twice on Kindle and then ordered the paper version from my husband's prime account because I was too impatient to wait for regular shipping from my Amazon account. This is my go to reference for tarot, I find myself opening the kindle app and reading it on multiple devices on the regular, and I've marked up and sticky noted the hell out of my paper copy. I spent a good year with my deck, The Wild Unknown by Kim Krans, playing around with it and fumbling and pretty unsure of what I was doing and then I found WTF IS TAROT and it provided not only clarity, but almost a reassurance of all the things my intuition had been trying to tell me for months. This book speaks my language and is the first (and really only) of the many, many books about tarot that I had delved into that made perfect sense in a voice super familiar to my own. I can't recommend this highly enough!!! Bakara lays it all out and her openness and anecdotes about how the cards have related to her history are so genuine and real, it's impossible not to relate and to see the tarot in a whole different, gorgeous light. I will always be forever grateful to her for writing this and if you're debating about whether or not to pick up a copy for yourself let me save you some time and just go ahead and click buy now, you won't regret it.

A must for the millennial bruja
I bought a tarot deck about 20 years ago, but I just didn’t feel a connection. I recently purchased a deck that I was most definitely drawn to and convinced me that I needed to re-explore this art. Of course this book caught my eye because of the title. While this book lends itself to be a reference, I read it cover to cover in 3 days. The author’s style jived with my interests and was totally intoxicating. There’s an essence of sass-mouth (duh, look at the title) but it’s completely entertaining and not pretentious or forced. I personally enjoyed her anecdotes and pop culture jargon. The information conveyed flows so conversationally that it’s obvious the author is passionate and captivated by the tarot. The majority of the book is dedicated to understanding what the cards represent, and while there is information about how to do a spread, that’s not the focus.I started the book overwhelmed and anxious that perhaps I bought another deck that would stay in my bedside table, but I finished it with a sense of calmness, understanding, and assurance. The thing that made the biggest difference for me was having a deck that resonated with me and I “understood.” Once I had that connection, I saw how the cards spoke for themselves and their narrative was easier for me to relay. There are also some great resources on YouTube if you find comfort and confidence of having a good foundation of the cards’ meaning. I tend to approach things more with my head than my heart at first. So this book gave me that confidence I crave with the encouragement of using my heart and intuition. I hope that Ms. Wintner follows up this book with other “witchy” guidance.

An Original and Down to Earth Guide to Tarot
I've been looking for some alternative guides to tarot as I've been finding a lot of books are just more of the same explanation of the Rider Waite cards. This was what I was looking for. I liked reading about Wintner's personal background to the tarot and links to each of the major arcana. The guides to the minor arcana also were straightforward, insightful and gave a more specific and modern approach to their interpretation. I've been going back to this book repeatedly in my own readings.I hope there are more tarot books by this author in the future and I'll definitely like to read them - especially anything about tarot combinations.

Not sure about the title but the content is excellent!
I really didn't like the title of this book but bought it on the strength of the reviews. However, WTFIT is one of the most interesting books I have read on Tarot and the format is very engaging. I particularly like the personal anecdotes that follow each MA card, as they add context and relevance to each description.Having read many, many tarot books, I like this book very much and welcome this style of writing and teaching that brings Tarot bang up to date with modern day living:)

Excellent book
EXCELLENT READ I have read MANY books on tarot, and this is easily one of the best for me so far.Bakara Wintner writes in such a clear relatable no-bullshit type way. If you pick this book up, you’ll probably find yourself nodding your head at the examples she so honestly shares from her own life, as she relates them to the archetypical meaning of the major arcana cards. This is an excellent resource for people who are beginning to hear the call and feel the silent but insistent pull towards the wild depths of tarot. This is also a brilliant read for more seasoned readers such as myself, who enjoys the esoteric layers of tarot and understands that it is both an ancient established system as well as a breathing, evolving one that needs to be worked with in a way that makes sense in the 21st century. I love to be inspired by fellow tarot scholars and practitioners, and see myself adding my own voice to the chorus at some point / Callie the unapologetic tarot nerd🤓✌🏻

confusing
I thought, from the title that this book would be simple and informative. In fact, the author used her interest in tarot cards to sell what is basically her autobiography. Yes, it includes tarot explanations, but you have to wade through too much stuff.

Bought to go with deck
However the deck never shown up from creator. This book is usable by itself but I haven't really bothered since I got it as a companion book.
