Hooked (Never After Series)

This book! If this is sat in your TBR and you haven’t yet, you keep thinking I’ll get round to it like I was doing. Drop everything else and start reading. This book had me hooked (if you know, you know) from the beginning. I was maybe a little skeptical of the whole ‘hook’ idea, this is not a retelling or a remake. It is pure genius and if anything the slight connection (in names only) was masterfully done. This book is so well written, intriguing, gripping, spicy, loving and just everything you could want. It’s not a long book, finished in a few hours but it was truly one of the best few hours I’ve spent reading a book in a while. I loved the characters, the story, the twists (which I had a guess but one of them was an ohhhhhhhh) honestly just read. You will not be disappointed. Everything about this book was perfect and so well written. I’m now diving in to see what else the author has written because I am well and truly hooked 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️💙

This book was as good as they said it was. A captivating retelling of Hook’s story. I was consumed by this book, consistently rooting for our morally grey (black?) MMC. The story is beautifully written and holds your attention from beginning to end. It’s full of twists and turns and things you just didn’t see coming. It was amazing do not get me wrong but its one of the worst in the whole series ( in my opinion) , i can most certainly say that it was full of deep dark complex characters and it had so many twist and turns. 3.5/5 it would have been a 5/5 but after reading her other ones in the never after series you can see that her writing improved so much!!.

I am jn love with the story, the characters, twists and turns. So dark and beautifully done. A brilliant story!

Well… this is my first read by Emily McIntire. To say the least I will be reading more by this author as I plan to continue to read the Never After Series!At first I didn’t know what to think of ‘Hooked’, I found the beginning to be rather slow and not as engaging… (or maybe that was just me as I was in another one of my reading slumps.) However, around the first 100 pages it started to pick up and then at the half way mark the action came and didn’t stop. Which I appreciated.It was an intriguing read, I enjoyed it more than I expected to. James and Wendy delivered immensely.The book contained many unexpected turns that I didn’t see coming, although there was one plot twist that I speculated from the moment james first met Jon. If you know you know. *winking face*James and Wendy’s relationship was twisted… in all the right ways of course. Their feelings for one another grew fast and strong. Although, if you would have asked James he would have denied it and probably stabbed you with it hooked blade.Both of them shown character development as James was set and consumed with revenge for his family; tormented by his past with his uncle, but in the end it didn’t really play out the way he had hoped, he grew because for him he realised it wasn’t everything… No Wendy was!And Wendy… out very own Wendy darling. In my opinion, she was the character with the greatest development. At the start she was in the innocent girl stuck in her father’s shadow, by the end she learned to speak up for herself and what she wanted. Not being tied down by the perspectives of others and perceiving herself as capable and strong.This re-imagining of Peter Pan was clever and intriguingly intelligent in how all the little details can be tied back to the original story. Some details where changed a little to fit this narrative but they are there nonetheless and done in a way which is most appreciative.

If I could give this book 5 million stars I would, its absolutely fantastic and I couldn't put it down. This is book 1 in the Never After Series and Wow, what an awesome start to this series.James is Hook and he wants his revenge and he is about to do whatever it takes to get it. He is a dark ruthless  man that has been through some very horrible things and one way or another he is going to make those responsible pay and he doesn't care who he hurts along the way.Wendy has been through so so much and in between growing up she's also bringing up her brother too. She has always been a daddys girl but after everything that happened with her mother things are not the same as they were and she is starting to notice things about her father that are shocking her to the core.During a night out in a bar James sees Wendy for the first time and she holds his attention and he isn't willing tinker her go until he has used her for all of his revenge.These characters are awesome and the chemistry between them both is sizzling. I love the story line and felt it flows through the pages fabulously. This book captivated me from the very beginning and is full of twists and turns and totally shocks that you won't see coming. This is a dark romance that will pull you in right until the very end. I highly recommend reading this book because it will blow your mind.#Hooked #EmilyMcIntire #NeverAfterSeries

The perfect level of spice!! Loved the story line.The writing was amazing and it sucked me in instantly! I loved Hook from the get go and normally the FMC can sometimes be irritating but I love how she just shed her innocent skin straight away!

What a great retelling of Hook. When I first saw these books I thought they were a fantasy retelling, that is not the case.Peter pan was one of my fav Disney movies growing up, I wanted to be Wendy and fly away to neverland. Now I want to be Wendy and be held captive by 'Hook'. I did figure out a couple of the twists in this book, but was still a great read for me 😄

The writing within this book is binge worthy!It’s dark, steamy, and unforgiving. At its core it’s a love story.When I tell you I’ve never rooted so hard for a Villain 😅 Not sure when it happen Ed but apparently the more unhinged the MMC, the more I'm like "awe" especially when you realize why the MMC is morally black.Ps. The spice is SPICY 🥵

Al principio (la primera mitad del libro) me costaba mucho leer por que estaba harta del hombre misterioso y malhumorado que enamora a la chica. Pero OMG los cambios de eventos y lo rápido que empieza todo a cambiar que de haberme tardado 6 días en la primera mitad, la segunda la leí en un día! Vale la pena mil veces.

eu amei tanto esse livro que não consigo nem expressar!foi uma leitura rápida e diferente de todos os dark romances que eu já li. eu amei o james e a wendy. eles são tão opostos e a autora foi bastante fiel aos personagens, colocando referências e muito mais.a wendy sendo meio sonsa, mas mostrando o seu valor no final (exatamente como nos filmes), o peter sendo o vilão (até quando senhor? estão destruindo a minha infância!!) e a tina como a representação da sininho, o que eu achei bastante interessante.eu gostei bastante da história, trouxe algo diferente dos contos de fadas em livros, onde todos se resumem em a bela e a fera. pretendo ler o livro do scar e os seguintes, gostei bastante da escrita e espero ler mais livros da autora!indico muito!!

This was a really fast read for me since I had a day filled with reading and relaxing.I did not expect the book to be so dark but I actually really liked it and was completely obsessed with the story.It reads really easy and I just didn't want to put the book down.I'm excited to read the rest of the books in this series!
