Quantitative Process Control Theory: 45 (Automation and Control Engineering)

A great book. Very practical.
The writing of this book is quite clear. What makes the book especially valuable is the no-weight design approach. Very practical!I have been looking for a comprehensive approach for a long time. The system I consider involves many possible working points. The models have similar structures, but different parameters, at different working points. The parameters are obtained through a real-time data acquisition system. The control system should switch among these working points and build the controller for the changed parameters automatically. There are two challenges in such a design. The first lies in that the computer is not able to choose the right weights required in many advanced approaches. The other is the real-time computation of the configurable controller for the changed model.I read many books and failed to find an advanced design approach that really worked in such a system. The approach in this book gives a solution. Since the result is practical, the changed model can be embedded into the configurable controller in an easy way. Combined the rigorous solution with the easy tuning procedure, this approach provides a very practical way to implement a robust controller.
