Bridgman's Life Drawing (Dover Anatomy for Artists)

Exactly what I expected
I've been trying to study the figure and this was recommended for my of YouTubers like David Finch who's a comic book artist and just different artists and comic books in different people that do figures this is one of them I have to get another one and so at the moment of my skill level it's a little bit difficult for me to do it but I am new to learning the figure.so I just wanted to have it in my collection of art books so that when I got ready to really dive into this book I will already have a copy of it and it's cheap it's like nine bucks. I think so the other one that I need to get is like six bucks so if you can afford it you should it's just $9 or if you're hesitant about it I do recommend it if you do want to hear a little bit more about the book just look up the artist and there's tons of videos on explaining the book even showing you how to study from the book because it is very loose with the sketching it's not like a step-by-step type of thing. I just take David Finch's advice and just try to draw everything in this book and do my best to copy what I see check out his YouTube channel because he do have videos about how to get started with learning the figure if you're a beginner or just trying to learn it.

VERY HAPPY WITH THIS PURCHASE
Same seller as my first Bridgman review. The retailer got me the book in three days. I didnt pay additional to have it expedited, so that was a plus. As far as the material goes. Buy this book. There is a reason that Bridgman is know and recomended by so many professional and aspiring artist. I hadnt had this book a month and already improved my anatomy line work considerable. The sketches are very much in the Frank Frazetta style. Not a whole lot of dialogue instruction but multiple angles of each part of the body and for a visual learner like myself. Extremely insightful. I read where a lot of people note that you already have to have a clear understanding of anatomy. Well i have purchased quite a few books that go in long, long anatomy detail and i am not a professional artist by any means. This series of books along with Loomis and Hampton seem to be the way to go if you want to really get a grasp. Just my opinion. I am very glad i purchased this book. I would use this seller again, no question.

Great book Bridgeman is a master
Great book Bridgeman is a master This is a great book however you may wish to get the book titled Bridgeman’s complete drawing from life because it contains this book as well as constructive anatomy and the head book. However if you’re looking for a short notice version that isn’t so in depth because I know Bridgeman can be quite confusing than this is a must have

Helpful for Bridgman's muscled male body shapes
It augments Bridgman's main books on drawing. If you have not read Norman Rockwell's autobiography, then you should at least read the parts describing Bridgman's drawing course. You laugh and learn about that generation of artists. Then when you get this book, you can fill in lots of details about how to approach these forms. It does help. Still, it doesn't help with anything but heavily muscled men. Oh, well.

The Basics
Covers the basics of drawing the human form in a more classical style. It's an old book, but one whose priciples still hold up well today. I wouldn't reccomend it for those wanting to venture into cartooning, but I feel it's more a book for people who want to master the basics of figure drawing in a very linear and straight forward way.

Absolutely essential
If you’re an artist starting out or you’re ready been in the mix as an artist but never seen amens book, then having this in your shelf to use as reference is absolutely essential. Going back and learning the basics about structure and anatomy will help refresh your skills. A must for anyone in the arts.

Not for complete beginner
Book quality is good. Book content is very good to understand figure drawing. But you should know anatomy. Without anatomy it won't be much of a help maybe.not for complete beginner.
