Magic and illusion
The book provides a timeline when magic was used and Magic Theory examples. The book delves into the history of magicians as well as their famous acts, separating them into two categories: The Firsts and Modern Magicians. The book is extremely informative, looking into magic and illusion.I received a review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Short and reads like an college paper
I think this was a college paper that was turned into a very short and over priced book. Much of the sources in the reference section are Wikipedia. It is repetitive:One paragraph opens with :"Unfortunately, Robert-Houdin's assistant, Le Grand, had stolen and copied many of his ideas ..."2 pages later:"Fortunately for him, Robert-Houdin's assistant had stolen most of his illusions."

Boring book
This book has little to do with it's supposed title. It is boring and rehashes info already published about it's subjects. I would DEFINITELY NOT recommend this book to anyone, as it is not appealing its content or context.

Not good.
It's odd. The syntax is strange. Some basic information and a lot weirdness.
