Amazon Basics Curtain Rods for Windows, 1-Inch, Urn Finials, 36" to 72", Brushed Nickel

For a $29 curtain rod, this rod is VERY sturdy and well-made. My only complaint is that the instructions were almost useless. It would be nice if the instructions would give helpful hints like the use of a piece of paper to mark the holes, which can be reversed to ensure the same size on the opposite side of the window. (Saw that hint online. It is a great idea!) The price is great, as the rod, brackets, and finials were all included. I highly recommend this curtain rod set. The brackets (3) that came with it are very sturdy and are adjustable to hold the curtains further away from the wall, if needed. We left them as they came. I didn't want to have large "decorative" brackets. I wanted minimal brackets, and that's what this one had.

We had previously purchased two different curtain rods from Lowe’s for $60+ each but had to return both of them. One sagged in the middle and one didn’t even fit together correctly. We didn’t fully expect this one to work either because the price is so low but I am happy to say we were pleasantly surprised! The rod is sturdy and doesn’t sag at all even with our two 100x84-inch blackout curtains (we have it extended to 136 inches), the end caps look expensive and elegant, and the finish is exactly as pictured. Down the road we may replace the brackets with something nicer because those are the only things I would consider “basic” about this curtain rod. Overall we couldn’t be happier and will buy this again for other windows!

I cannot tell you how beautiful this looks. I bought some thermal grommet curtains for the sliding glass door, and my son put this up in no time in place of the old curtain track with a string, and it looks spectacular. Simple with 3 brackets that tighten down to hold the rod in place. I love it. Looks like it will last a long time. Just wish it hadn't taken a month to receive after ordering. The curtain came the next day but this took a month. Thanks.

It's less pricey than others and still nice and solid. I thought the finials were going to be plastic, but they are, in fact, metal (with some plastic parts within). After the practicality of taking measurements and the stud-finding for the brackets, the most difficult part of the installation was the brawn needed to screw the brackets securely. That's it. The rod, itself, was uncomplicated to assemble. The rod nicely matches the nickel finishes of the fixtures in the bathroom where I installed it, and its finials don't look too Neo-Classical to seem out of place in a contemporary decor (though maybe not for use in ultra modern and industrial decors, n'est-ce pas?). I still took off a star for how costly it is, even though it cost less than so many other curtain rods. Maybe it's just a sign of my age, but I'm not sure why curtain rods have gotten so expensive over the last few decades--well out of step with inflation, in my opinion.

Well packaged indeed! No scratches or other issues. Hardware present and accounted for. Would be a nice bonus if they threw in a couple extra screws in case you drop one and it scurries off. Sometimes they just refuse to be found. Why are they asking me to rate sheerness of curtain rods? Somebody didn’t read past the word curtain lol.

I bought this to hang curtains on a sliding glass door. The curtains are closed at night and open during the day, and because they are sliding back and forth every day, I couldn't have a curtain rod with a center support. I've used rods before that will extend across the door, but because they start out shorter, they bow in the middle. Because this one is already so long before you even extend it, most of the door is covered by a single piece of rod, and it's thick, so it doesn't bow with the weight of the curtains. It looks really nice, too. The finials are large, and I like the shape of them. It looks like a much more expensive curtain rod. I wasn't able to find anything even close to this for less than $60 in stores. Time and again, I've been really happy with any AmazonBasics things I've bought.

These rods were easy to install. I installed three of these without any problems. That said I am a seventy year old gramma and I don't know why there are complaints about the install. It is a good idea to work the thumb screw so it can be hand tightened before you install the bracket. Measure, measure, measure and when you are sure of the placement of your bracket check one more time and mark with a pencil and drill pilots. Put the screw in about 3/4 of the way set bracket in place and tighten. Put the curtain on the rod, I left one grommet outside the bracket so the curtain hangs nice and you won't ever see the bracket then after hanging rod with curtain I put the knobs on. If knobs are on it may not clear ceiling. Hand tighten thumb screws and arrange pleats, use a clothespin(at the bottom pleats) to keep pleats in for a couple of days. Curtains will hang like a professional install.
