This book is full of errors both in spelling and in the examples. There are many that could cause the student unneeded confusion. I used Python years ago for small projects and so I just wanted a refresher course but this was a shock. Technical tutorials need much more proof reading than most books. This one had none it seems.

Good book. Lots of simple examples, input and output easy to see, no typos, easy to understand, gets up to Object oriented classes, overall no complaints. Could probably read it in one afternoon. For beginners, I would recommend this book and the book Baby Python.

The book has descriptions of key python elements, but no exercises. There are many typos, some of which are confusing. Finally, it can be difficult to tell what the user is typing and what represents the computer's output.

This book is labeled a guide to learning Python but it is more like a very poorly edited list of Python functions - information that is readily available on the Internet.It might be useful as a hard copy reference IF someone had made at least a half halfhearted attempt to edit this edition - the frequent typographical errors and missing sections make this book almost useless

This is an unfortunate mix of reference and teaching programming. Not for novices in programming.Short. Does not elaborate on the philosophy of Python.OK I guess if you have experience in programming and just want the CliffNotes.

Teaching myself Python, it's so great to get this free for kindle reading.

This book covers a lot of ground, but the lack of explanations and dryness makes it difficult to follow. I would have preferred more exercises and fuller explanations of concepts.
