It works. Really fun and impresses others. So cute and funny.

Did not work after a full charge
Gave the perpetual machine a full charge. Turned it on, but it was difficult to determine if it was on or not because there was no visible power light. I could tell it was on when the ball was occasionally give a magnetic push, but the push was not enough to make it back into the catch at the top. In the first picture, I dropped the ball in and it went down the hoop. In the second picture, it was magnetically pushed and did not go further than the metal rail. In the third picture, the ball returned back down the metal rail.

Fun desk toy
This kinetic art perpetual motion machine is such a fun piece to display on the desk. It's a great pastime to watch and relax for a bit. This is battery powered as you can see in the picture, the power button is hard to see ,and there is a power indicator light at the back to see if it's on or off.
