150mm Length Travel Linear Stage Actuator with Square Linear Rails Ballscrew SFU1605 with NEMA17 Stepper Motor for DIY CNC Router Parts X Y Z Axis

So having installed this as a Z Axis on my 3040 (Upgraded from a 3018) I am so happy. Slide is exceptionally solid with no sideways or vertical chatter or play which I had with the original Z Axis. However there are some things to note, 1. Packaging was very poor and the bottom plate is slightly damaged, this does not affect operation but is a concern. 2. All screws including the Stepper motor were not tightened and had to be tightened. 3. Wiring for the stepper did not match my existing wiring and took a little to work out. 4. I had to make my own mounting gear for the anti backlash nut which you kind of expect as no X axis mounting kit is included so factor that into your cost/time. 5. You will now want to replace all your axis with Ball Screw threads and replace your rails with linear square bars! So with all of the above why does it rate 5 Stars, well once you tighten it up its incredibly good with the addition that unlike the upgraded Aluminum 3018 pro this has slots you can easily add limit switches as well as 4mm threaded holes in the top that you can add support hardware for your drag chain. One last thing to note that all mounting threads are 4mm which may be too small for some but seem to work fine for a full size 1/4" router, I would also purchase some 4mm Square nuts to make use of all the channeling thats down both sides and the back of the Z axis.

The combination of the linear rail and ball screw makes this actuator tight and sturdy. Massive upgrade from 8mm round rail lead screw actuator with plastic body. Some notes, the mounting plate on the ball screw does not include standard adapter plate so will require something to adapt from 30x30mm bolt pattern m4 screws. The wiring also had to be changed for the stepper motor to move. It just vibrated when wired as is.

Really a fantastic linear drive. Much better than the other Befenbay model that depends on the motor coupling to support one end of the ball screw. This one has strong supports at each end. Wiring is fine, works great, very durable.
