Hero ArtsAF375 Ink, Rose Petals Dye Cubes

I needed/wanted some UV reactive ink (aka neon colors that “glow under blacklight”) and these colors are Awesome!!!I got the small square set which has orange, pink, green, blue and I purchased a bigger pad of the neon yellow and neon Red (neon Red only has a subtle difference from the neon pink especially under blacklight) but I love red and especially a neon red so I got it even tho I thought it might be really similar.The pictures show the colors stamped with a rubber stamp 3 times in a row so you can see how much ghosting you can get. This was stamped on 300gm watercolor paper. On the side I pushed the stamp pad directly onto the paper (the big pads I just pushed a corner)Color order from top to bottomYellowOrangeRedPinkGreenBlueNotes:-yellow is a bit tricky to see under normal light (but that also makes it super fun when using in art and suddenly under blacklight it’s glow bananas bright.-Green and yellow look very similar under blacklight- Red and pink are different but it is subtle. Their color difference is more noticeable depending on what colors you put beside them.

These neon inks by Hero are fantastic! They work on kraft card- will not show up on black.If you smoosh on your surface, you can add water and get many different shades- useful on white card when using layering stencils as you can start with a light touch for first layer and go deeper in color as you layer up! Many YouTube videos using the Neons. They were sold out everywhere but Amazon now has them for a better price!

These are juicy, bright, and *very* neon.My only issue with these is that they claim to be a dye ink that is water based, yet they perform more like a solvent ink. They do not react with water at all (once the ink is on the paper, it stays there, and cannot be lifted or "activated" with water, like the Distress inks) and layering two different colors isn't very successful at all- it results in a weird, splotchy finish instead of a nice blended color.And cleaning this off stamps is very difficult.That being said, these inks are BEAUTIFUL for what they are- they dry to an even, smooth, BRIGHT color. Even the most finicky and hard-to-ink clear stamps take this ink wonderfully. And if you do watercolor, you can use this ink to stamp your outlines without worrying that the water and paint will "lift" the color and blur your images.So while you can't use these inks like Distress or blend them, they leave a solid stamped image, dry beautifully and smoothly, and have amazing colors that are not available in true water-based inks.

Great deal for the price. Most other suppliers sell the same color group for about $10 so, there is the first benefit buying from this seller here on Amazon. I'd give it 5 stars if it weren't for the fact that the actual color on the front sticker label is not quite accurate. The actual colors are richer and more saturated. So, if you decide to buy them, expect the colors to be darker than appears (and it's not a monitor thing, you'll see when you receive them....it's the manufacturer sticker. The pads were full, not a bit dry. Basically, they're exactly as described other than the colors being a bit off (I'll try to update with photos as soon as I have some white scrap card stock) Overall, I'm happy with my purchase that arrived on time with my Prime.

There is a lot to like in this pack of Hero Arts Field Notes Ink Cubes. I like the size; they are easy to use and easy to store. These are very good colors and a nice complimentary set. They are the first Hero Arts inks I have ever bought and I would definitely buy more. I would recommend buying the Tim Holtz Mini Distress ink storage tin from Amazon for $7.99; these inks fit in there perfectly, and you will have room to store more of them (which you will be buying after you try these out).

These mini ink pads are a great way to try out the Hero Arts Shadow Ink line. I bought 4 different sets on sale and for about $20 I got to try 16 different colors. These are tiny but very juicy and not disposable (they can be re-inked). I eventually bought just about every set they put out and like them all with the exception of the gold in the Christmas set which is useless, but still, one out of 30 or so colors isn't bad. These inks stamp a bit uneven at first, but even out as they absorb into the paper. They're supposed to work that way, it's not a defect. They might stain stamps, but that depends on the stamp material as well, not just the ink (stamps made in the US tend to stain). Overall I'm very pleased with the quality of these inks.

Firstly, I have to say that this product came very well packaged and arrived much quicker than expected considering it was sent from the USA so I was very pleased with that. But the actual product I am not too impressed with. The cubes are tiny, I expected them to be small as they are the mini versions but they were even smaller than I expected, because of this I find them quite tricky to work with as you can't get a good grip on them. The ink quality isn't what I was expecting either, I find it difficult to get good coverage when stamping with these inks, it is almost like they have dried out. The colours are much darker than they look in the image, especially the top green colour. All in all I was quite unimpressed with these inks and I don't think I will purchase anymore.

My order for these two ink pads arrived a full TEN weeks after I had place my order. I ordered them on the 5th September and they arrived on November 22nd November! They are ink pads. They work. But they are not neon. They are close matches the the pink and blue ink pad I already got. Nothing special about them. I must emphasis they are NOT neon in my opinion.

Gorgeous colours and superb quality inks - terrific coverage and intensity of colour. I wish more were readily available in the UK.
