What keeps the machine from sliding?

I assume you are talking about sliding when plugging into USB ports in front. If so, my Dell computer has rubber feet on the it. My shelf also backs up to a leg of my desk which prevents me from pushing out the back (and from loading the shelf from the back).

I dont thing the length of the console will fit inside.

Does this come in white?

Thank you for your interest in the Oeveo Under Mount 242. Unfortunately, this only comes in black. Please let us know we can assist you further in any way. Oeveo Team

What is the maximum screw size allowed use to mount the shelving? I intend to use it to mount an amplifier in the trunk area weighing about 6 lbs.

The mounting holes on this unit measure .20" width by .75" length. So a number #10 screw is the largest recommended screw size to use. Also, four #8 screws are provided with your package, and they measure 1-1/4". Hope this helps!
