As usual with FoW's Starter Sets/Forces, this offers great value when compared to buying the units individually.While the set is intended as Mid-War, all the units can be used in Late War forces.On the German side, the infantry sprues have enough models to make either Grenadiers (with Machine Guns on half of the bases) or Panzergrenadiers (with one Machine Gun per base). There are also infantrymen with Panzerfausts and Panzerschreck, which should not be used in a Mid-War force, but are needed for Late-War. The 5cm Anti-Tank Gun was being phased out, but still in use by Late War. The Nebelwerfer rocket launcher was widely used both Mid and Late War.For the Soviets, the infantry models can make Rifle, Shock Rifle and Motor Rifle companies, both for Mid and Late War forces. The 76mm guns can be made as either 76mm Artillery guns or 57mm Anti-Tank guns as both barrels come in the sprue and they used the same carriage.One very nice detail was the inclusion of game tokens for both Soviets and Germans on the box' sides meant to be cut out. There is also a set of dice, grey for Germans and Red for Soviets.

La scatola è bellissima con accattivanti illustrazioni. Le varie stampate sono imbustate con cura e non presentano danneggiamenti. All'interno è stato inserito del materiale da imballaggio per prevenire danneggiamenti. Ci sono anche i dadi, grigi e rossi, per i due eserciti, le carte unità ed esercito, un manuale completo di gioco e le tabelle riassuntive. Le istruzioni di montaggio sono abbastanza chiare. Questa scatola sono soldi ben spesi. Sarebbe stato un buon miglioramento mettere un libretto degli scenari per avere delle partite di difficoltà crescente, visto che è un set dedicato ai principianti. Io lo consiglio a tutti. Può essere un bel regalo per i vostri figli, per distrarli da tablet e telefonini e avvicinarli alla storia.

I'm a hobby board gamer with about 500 games, including wargames and several tabletop miniatures games, such as Infinity and Frostgrave.This is a very fun WW2 miniatures tabletop wargame that's easier to get going with than I thought it might be.Although the rulebook is about 120 pages long, the core rules are covered in just eight pages and are very clear. After reading the core rules, I was able to put out some units and start playing.One gripe I have with the rules is that the rulebook is A5-sized and uses a small font that I find a bit difficult to read - my eyesight isn't what it used to be!I like that a QuickStart leaflet is included, which duplicates the core rules from the rulebook using a much larger font.You do need a large table - a full-sized game is 6 foot by 4 foot. You also need to assemble the miniatures and, ideally, paint them.I love that the miniatures are 1:100 (15mm) scale - this small miniature size allows me to fit a lot of battlefield on my table.I've scored this starter set five stars because I think you get a lot for your money, and it's a fun game. There's lots to explore just with this core set, but it's also a fairly cheap way to see how much you like the system before investing further.
