Great for detecting small leaks that I can't hear.
I knew I had an air leak on my semi but couldn't hear it to know where it was coming from, this Leak detector found it, worked great. My only concern is with the ear phones that come with it-Where the cord attaches to the ear phones is very flimsy and I think it may break after a few uses, but my other ear phones will work in their place.

Works very well especially for the money
As long as you use common sense this works very very well. If you are one of those people that do not have common sense it doesn't matter what you use nothing will help you. I'm not saying this being negative but just understand why it works and then you will learn how to use it and it will be very very beneficial to you. It's easy to read through negative comments and understand that people do not know what they were doing

Works well though instructions are lacking
It took me a little while to figure out how to use the device. One thing that tripped me up was the instructions, that mention adjusting the volume. There is only one adjustment that I can find and it is the sensitivity. The volume in the headphones is a bit loud for me so I adjust it by pulling the headphones slightly off my ears. I think the correct way to adjust the sensitivity is to set it to maximum and then turn it down if it is clicking from background noise.I tried it out on my corny keg system. It has a lot of connections and I know it has leaked in the past. When I pressurized the system the leak detector didnβt sound an alarm anywhere I placed the microphone. I then placed the microphone near the vent and slowly pulled it so that there was a small leak. The ticking sound became almost continuous and the red light lit up. I then checked a portable inflator that I suspected might be leaking near the outlet. I hooked the inflator up to a bicycle tire and set the pressure to 65 psi. No leaks were detected while inflating or while the inflator was connected. A leak was detected at the tire valve momentarily as the inflator was disconnected. So it seems as if the leak detector does pick up leaks and the good news for me is that the things I tested so far are not leaking.
