These things are easy to use and are loud when they go off from a bite. Easy to set up and can be used on any rod. Great price for the quality and craftmanship. I was over 50 yards away and was able to hear them sound off with Texas panhandle winds blowing at 20 mph. They are loud and can't be missed.

Great product. However, I wish there was a volume adjustment knob. While fishing close to others in small areas, it's quite loud. I do appreciate the loud volume so when Im a great distance from my stationary pole, I have no problem hearing it. I just wish I could adjust it when fishing in close quiet discreet areas.

Purchased these for my Husband and they are very well made and easy to use. Only thing is they are maybe a little too loud lol I guess he will definitely know when there is a fish 😆

While it's nice to have, the piercing/warbling of the intruder-alarm-like sound will not only scare away most fish, but it will annoy everyone within a mile around you.They're easy to setup and include a nice rubber insert for the clamp to prevent it from scuffing or scratching your rod. Other than clamping in on your rod and pulling out the battery-tab, all you need to do is to take your line and simply feed it over the two knobs that sit on a rotary-dial and then turn it on.When the line is pulled, the tension causes the dial to rotate and the alarm to sound. It's fairly sensitive, but does require a significant bite or attack to trigger (there is enough play in the dial to prevent wind from triggering it, though reeling in will).I would have liked this to have had a simple volume dial (or selector) and different sound for the alarm. Something more subtle and a lot less "Holy crap, where's the fire!" to it. As of this weekend, my neighbors on the lake were none to pleased with it's use.

I’ll start by saying we have not tried them on the rods yet. However, I want to comment on the reviews about being loud. Yes they are very loud. To correct it, I put a piece of duct tape over the sound hole on the back. I’ll update later after we use them.

I just kinda opened the box and slapped it on the rod in the middle of the night. Worked great and loud as hell. PSA: you can use a tiny bit of tape over the speaker hole to reduce the volume by about half.

I used it at work just fine the only thing is..there is no volume control it's loud.

Small and compact. Haven't used it yet but looks good. Can't grumble for the price

received as advertised, it works but not good for windy conditions and for strong currents because it will put pressure on the line and activate the alarms and there is just no way you can make it work in those conditions
