Nice surprise
I ordered this book with reservations. From the ‘Look Inside,’ I was afraid that the fonts would all be too similar. I decided to order because I really loved a few that I saw. Since then, I’ve used this book extensively in my scrapbook titles. The fonts seem similar, but do offer letter variations within the style. Similar styles are grouped, and since the samples you see come from consecutive pages, the style doesn’t evolve that much. As you move through the book, the styles vary more than the first few pages. That said, they all do have a similar basic style - swash! I find myself drawn to the styles in this book! Glad I got it!

Old school fonts mostly. Meh.
I was looking to improve my modern calligraphy and fonts for various writing projects and rock painting. I wanted a bunch of examples that would inspire and make my projects look professional, artsy and modern. I'm not an expert calligrapher, (obviously because I'm buying a font "idea" book), but this book reminded me more of 1960's/70's type fonts. There may be 3 to 5 put of the 100 in this book that are sorta cool looking but the majority remind me of 70's advertising, old school TV series and ancient text books from when I was in grammar school. I looked at the copyright and it said 1996 so it's all making sense. Went to etsy and started browsing and not only did I get 50 fonts for 1/3 of what this book costs, but they download into Office nicely as well. This book served its purpose back in the day, it just has not aged well for modern font seekers.

Swash is it
This is my favorite type book right now. I already have various others and I wish I had gotten this one first instead of the Circus stuff. Victorian is useful, but the swashes are it. Each alphabet as several versions of different letters, and not only has that offered more flexibility in using the type, but it has made me think of new ways to handle typography and custome lettering in my other work. This is a great book of alphabets to have on hand whether you're doing wedding announcements or band posters (or even identities).

Exactly what I needed!
This book is exactly what I was looking for! Every page is a different traceable font of the alphabet in both capital letters and lower case and even number in most cases! Perfect for your art projects!

Buckle Down and Get Your Swash On ;)
I do really like this book. My only criticism is that a number of the fonts are VERY similar. But it's still a good purchase. I bought it because I want to do some artwork that includes hand lettering, and it will definitely be a big help to me for that.
