Works well, and has long battery life
This review is for the SmallRig P96 LED Video Light. Very nice light. I use it for fill in the day, and additional lighting when not in the sun. Adjustable color temp is great, and being able to adjust the light level is a plus. Fits well in to the cold shoe on the SmallRig Universal cage. Well built, and in general a decent product for the price. After having seen it, I would certainly purchase it knowing what I know now. Acts as a really decent fill... Battery life is surprisingly good, I used one all day, with it being on maybe an hour or more in total, (on and off operation), and when I put in on the charger only one light out of 5 was out. Took no time to recharge... Love this light. I am really starting to like SmallRig stuff!!

Bright, Portable & Great for Content Creation
The SmallRig P96 LED Video Light is a fantastic addition to any video or photo setup. It’s compact but surprisingly bright, and the adjustable settings make it easy to get the right look for interviews, product shots, or everyday content. Build quality feels solid, and the portable size means it’s great on‑the‑go. Definitely worth it for the price if you want clean, reliable lighting without overcomplicated gear.

Surprisingly Bright and Versatile LED Light
I was surprised at how bright the SMALLRIG Vibe P96 Pro LED gets. Even at high output, it provides clean, usable light, and the wide range of color temperatures makes it easy to match ambient lighting or set a specific mood. It’s compact and lightweight, making it perfect to keep in your bag for emergency video shoots or quick setups. Overall, it’s a reliable, versatile little light that performs well beyond its size.

Worth it!!
I say 4 stars. It's light weight, easy to use, has good lighting, different shades n brightness settings. I love the spin wheel at the back. Only down side is it's plastic n the mounting part feels cheap. I always treat it with extreme care because I'm scared it'll break off. But since I always have duct tape n super glue gel, if it does happen I'll be ready. Battery life last me about 1hour plus but then again I never have it on max brightness. Great for my DSLR camera, or my home webcam setup that I use for zoom meetings. As long as your careful with it n use the lock feature I feel it's durable enough. It gets the job done especially if you are on a budget. I do like the fact that you attach additional lights to it if you purchase more than one or plan to in the future. Highly recommend it if you are on a budget #PajamaCrew Must Try!

Nice mini LED panel but challenging to use without an LCD
At the time of writing this review the price of the P96 Neo is just OK but I am not sure if it is a sale price or an indefinite price drop. The list price it launched at seems a little pricey given the Pro line is only slightly more expensive and offers better control and a small display to see settings. For this budget version to be a good buy the price does need to come in lower in my opinion. I still quite like this mini light except for one thing which has a huge impact on usability. As nice as the large controls are on this, it's so much easier to get the settings right when there is at least a small basic screen. Without one it's tough to get the light temperature just right and you have to eyeball it. It's fine for more casual use and again the main issue is the earlier price was a bit too high given the lack of LCD. When you get to the min/max settings the light flashes to let you know which is good and bad. Good well because obviously it helps to know when you can go any further but the bad is if you are actively recording then clearly the light flashes will ruin the video. Even more difficult is trying to figure out what special effects mode you are on should you try to make sure of those. It is just so difficult without an LCD, but I'm not sure how many actually use the effects anyway so may not be a big deal to most buyers I feel I have to take one star off due to their being just so many options available for mini LED panels that the price has to be quite competitive to make up for the lack of LCD to see settings. It's still a very nice mini light panel other than lack of an LCD. Also worth mentioning that unfortunately there is no small protective carry bag included either so while its probably going to withstand being transported in a bag as-is I feel better about having it in some kind of bag to make sure it stays in good usable shape Recommended if the price is around $16 or less and you have no use for a wider color spectrum. Otherwise you may want to explore other options including SmallRig's own Pro line.

Mint Unit Brother
Definitely better than is $15 dollar version that feels like it was made out of recycled cardboard nd bottom bag plastic. Battery life is solid even when using the light on max power. Brightness is bright. I like the option to switch in between warm and white lights at the press of a button. More versatile than a verse man looking to play. Portable?! Extremely. It’s the size of baseball l, so essentially you could shove it right up your back pocket. It’s a mint unit, it’s a lot more quality than the $15 dollar previous version. Don’t waste the time or finances with the older model and just get this one instead.

The Light Quality is Great, But the Build Feels Worryingly Cheap
I was really excited to get the SmallRig P96 light. I needed a small, portable light for my camera setup, and the features looked perfect. While the light itself performs well, I'm unfortunately very disappointed with the physical quality of the product. What It Does Right: The Light Let's start with the positives. The light output is fantastic. With 96 LEDs, a high CRI of 95+, and the ability to adjust the color temperature from a warm 2700K to a cool 6500K, it produces beautiful, natural-looking light. The brightness control is smooth, and it gets plenty bright for my needs in vlogging and food photography. The 2200mAh battery is also decent, giving me enough power for a typical shoot, and charging via USB-C is convenient. The design is also smart, with three cold shoe mounts that let you stack lights or add other accessories, which is a very handy feature. Where It Falls Short: The Body My main issue, and it's a big one, is the build quality. The entire unit is made of a plastic that feels incredibly lightweight and fragile. It does not feel like a premium product at all. The control dial for adjusting brightness and temperature feels flimsy, and honestly, I'm worried that it wouldn't survive a small drop. For a piece of gear that's meant to be "portable" and used with cameras, tripods, and other equipment, it feels weak and cheaply made. It gives me the impression that it was built to a price point, and durability was not a priority. Final Verdict It's a mixed bag. Functionally, the SmallRig P96 does exactly what it promises. The light is versatile and high quality. However, the poor construction makes me question its longevity. If you plan to use this exclusively in a protected studio environment, it might be a good budget option. But if you're a creator who needs durable, reliable gear for travel and on-the-go shooting, I would be hesitant to recommend this. The great light performance is sadly let down by a body that feels like it could break at any moment.

It’s ok for the price
I used the SmallRig Vibe P96 LED Video Light during a recent wedding shoot, and it’s a handy little tool for the price. Its compact size (79 x 64 x 25.3mm) and lightweight build (103g) made it easy to mount on my camera or a small tripod, and the adjustable color temperature (2700K-6500K) with CRI 95+ gave me flexibility to match the warm tones of the venue’s lighting or cooler outdoor scenes. The stepless knob for brightness and color adjustments was intuitive, and the built-in 2200mAh battery lasted about 1.5 hours at moderate settings, which was enough for most of the event. The three cold shoe mounts were a nice touch, letting me attach it to my rig or link multiple lights if needed. For close-up shots, like the couple’s first dance, it provided soft, natural light with the built-in diffuser, which was great for portraits. However, in very dark settings, like the dimly lit reception hall, the P96’s 1100 lux at 1 foot wasn’t quite bright enough to light up larger scenes or subjects more than a few feet away. I found myself wishing for more power, especially when shooting wider shots in near-dark conditions. The plastic build also felt a bit flimsy, and I handled it carefully to avoid damaging the mounting points, as some reviews mentioned fragility. Battery life dropped fast at max brightness (around 105 minutes), so I had to conserve power during longer shoots. For $24.99, it’s a solid budget-friendly fill light for smaller, well-lit setups or as a secondary light, but for darker wedding venues, I’d pair it with a stronger light source or opt for the P108 Pro for its RGB and extra effects.

This is the best light I've bought so far. I like this one much more than the cheaper smallrig light. This has a screen which shows accurate light intensity, kelvins, and the other fun modes. The light does get pretty warm after like 5/10 minutes so be cautious. It says it has a battery of 1h+ on full intensity, I don't know if it's good for the light to be on that long because of the heat. Still a great product, would highly recommend!
