His behavior went from a caged bird to a bird in the wild. As soon as the dimming starts I could see a shift in his body language. He went to one of his favorite places to perch and sleep. He stretched his wings, and yawned and yawned. He also watched the light that first night, I’m sure because it is something new in his cage. I could see him relax and kind of settle down to sleep. It was so cool to see him do what he would do naturally in the wild. So different than before I got the light and dimmer. I’m telling all my bird friends to get this setup. (keep reading for proof) The bottom line is that it is physically impossible (as in the laws of physics) to simulate natural sunlight with any type of light bulb. The lies of lamp manufacturers have been proven and published by independent testing labs for close to 20 years but it is a VERY long and complicated discussion that fries the brain of most people. Any timer (most times called lamp timers) will work and you can buy them anywhere which is why I don't sell them, who can compete with Walmart? They basically come in 2 styles, manual and programmable.
