This is a set of two filters for Dyson DC17, one "pre-motor" and the other "post-motor." (I don't know which name refers to which... but the two differ in thickness so easy to tell apart.) The main filter, the thinner one, is relatively easy to replace. (But then again, nothing with Dyson products is really that easy.) And it's also washable. The other, thicker and all-white, filter goes into a hidden compartment and is undocumented. I attached photos to show where this filter goes. It's a lot harder to replace. For both you need to ensure the filter goes in the right way. Just keep a mental map of what the old filter looks like as you take it out carefully. This set fits the DC17 model only.

As advertised. Looks and fits like OEM, machine operates normally. Good value.

These are really great filters. The are very sturdy made, and hold up well. I am happy with them, and would order again.

The HEPA Post-Motor Filter was a proper fit for the Dyson DC17 I was repairing, but I should note that I installed it while I had the motor out of the machine in order to access the connector for one of the wires of the brush motor that I was replacing. While the HEPA filter can be accessed through the removable cover on top of the base assembly, I really don’t think you would be able to properly press the HEPA filter into the motor bucket from that point of access. It’s a good tight fit, which is important because it appears the primary purpose of that filter is to capture a significant amount of residue from the motor’s carbon brushes. Apparently, some folks say they resorted to trimming off part of the rim of the filter to install it. That would be a HUGE mistake. The inside face of the filter that I removed was COMPLETELY encrusted with black carbon residue. Without a tight fit, some of that residue would blow by the filter into your room. I was somewhat displeased with the fit of the pre-filter. In my opinion, the rubber/silicone rim seal of the filter is not as soft as the original Dyson filter. As a result, I found that the pre-filter lid assembly was difficult to close and is probably being subjected to some stress after being forced to close. Perhaps the material will conform to the lid over time, but the initial fit was a little disturbing. The two filters totally restored the vacuum power of the machine. I suspect the new HEPA filter is to be credited for the greatest improvement in the machine’s performance.
