Came without a box in bag
Update: seller reached out and addressed all the issues by sending a new scale that works beautifully. We are thinking this might have been more of issue with Amazon.Original:I am so pissed, I waited over 3 weeks for this scale to show up. When it showed up it was tossed in bag, when I powered it up it gave an error and accuracy is all messed up. Spend your money on other scales this one is garbage.

Not as sexy or as expensive as Hario, but it gets the job done
I went with this model after a big move (had to leave behind my faithful Hario scale) because of its lower price and good reviews. Bottom line - it works fine even if it doesn’t look as cool or have the same quality feel as a Hario scale. It feels a cheap in some of the little things - scale plate seems a little loose, there a light on the display the shines from the left, so it’s a little uneven across the whole display. But as far as functionality there’s nothing to complain about. Timer and scale seem accurate and precise. I like the little rubber, no slide, cover that sits on the weigh scale. Also, you can operate it on triple a batteries or by charging it. I gave it a full charge a week ago and haven’t needed to plug it back in since. Not sure how long a charge lasts.Go with this one if you’re looking for something less expensive and don’t mind the workman aesthetic.

Works great for my espresso workflow
I love that I can hit the power switch and before it completes its quick power up I can place my porta filter on the scale and it tares to zero. Then I grind my espresso and weigh it again and I get a reading. Next I put an empty cup on the scale under the portafilter in the espresso machine and press the power button twice quickly. At that point it tares the scale again, but goes into a timing mode which starts when the first drip of espresso hits the cup. It makes weighing the coffee and end product very easy.I don't have any calibrated weights to know if the scale is accurate or consistent.

Great little scale that’s rechargeable!
I love that it doesn’t need batteries but can just be recharged via micro-USB. My only minor complaint is that the countdown timer cannot be adjusted to increments smaller than 3 min (and that it’s all fixed increments of 3 to 8 min, in 1 min increments). The count up timer does beep at the one minute mark (if you haven’t turned the beeps off—which is easy to do if you don’t like the beep, and which I also like), so it’s not a huge deal, that I can’t count down from 2 min (my normal Aeropress immersion time), but it’d be nice if they’d figured out a way for the countdown to start at any arbitrary time. Aside from that, I will repeat that it being rechargeable is really sweet and it’s the reason I got this model. Recommend!

Bomata Scale - Nice backlit display, precise touchpad controls, sufficiently accurate
I was pleased to find that the display was nicely backlit, clear, and easy to read. Once I read the instruction manual, the tare function (you can already have your brewing vessel on the scale and it will tare it for you when you turn on the scale), timer, sound setting, and auto-off became intuitive. If you want to calibrate the scale, you will need 3 kg of reference weights to do so. I don't have those, but the single 500 g weight that I do have came up as 500.1 g, which is plenty close for me. I found the touch controls to require just the right amount of pressure to easily make consistent entries - which is so important. Nicely done!
