The Language of Graphic Design: An Illustrated Handbook for Understanding Fundamental Design Principles Paperback – October 1, 2012

I got this book because I am a graphic designer, and even though I have had about 5 years of experience, it is always nice to refer back to the basics of Graphic Design! No professional is considered a professional, unless he or she is knowledgeable of the basics! Even if it's for a reference! The only thing that really bugging me about this book, is the hyphenations. I mean, this is a graphic design book, no? Some of the basics of knowing how to place text, even big text bodies, is to make sure that there is NO hyphens, or widowers! Does is make me not want to have this book, and wish that I had returned it? Nope! As I said, even though it has hyphenations, it doesn't make it a terrible read. I can live with the hyphenations. Overall, great book! Really informational! If you are wanting to pursue in Graphic Design, get the book! If you are even a 20-30+ year experienced person in this professional, you should get it! It's always nice to go back to the basics! Never know, it may just struck some type of inspiration!

This book explains and gives examples on the fundamentals of design. The layout and presentation of the book is modern, which I like. The readings are interesting and easy. I bought this book for my class and although I don't use it often, I like to read from it on my spare time because it is interesting.

I really like this book it was really easy to read, apart from being a txt book for a class, its a great book to have for designers altogether. the infor will always be relevant, and its a great to book to reference for personal use or work.

I am a newbie to graphic design. I like the book because it is not very wordy and it gets to the point. I can understand the concepts behind graphic design. There are illustrations of what the art looks like for each topic. The pages are thick and the book is nicely constructed. I am glad I purchased this book.

I bought this book for one of my classes. Kind of mad to say I don't even need the book but never the less, this book was pretty cheap to get which is great if you're a college student like me & the shipping is awesome. It came days before class even started.

Personalmente, lo compré cuando estaba alrededor de $100 pesos, por ese precio es un regalo pero hubiera pagado el precio completo por la calidad, una ayuda muy buena para cualquier diseñador que siga estudiando o vaya empezando a trabajar, y quizás los veteranos encuentren algo útil también. Eso sí, cuidado, sólo está disponible en inglés.
