Very much looked forward to trying konjac for the first time, just couldn't wait to get it! Unpacked it, ran water over it until it had no more dry spots, and used it on my face which had just had a homemade acid peel on it about an hour before. Because I had not yet put any moisturizer on my face after washing the fruit acids off, my face was unusually dry - not flaky dry, but stripped of oils dry. I ran this sponge over my face... and by the time I had put it away and walked out of the bathroom, I reached up and touched my face and stopped dead in my tracks. My face felt like I had just used the best moisturizer ever! Soft, hydrated, smooth, but absolutely no grease or slippery residue to deal with. LOVING IT.A few hours later I decided I really wanted to try it out on my body, and didn't want to wait till the morning. Sadly, the results on my body were not as impressive as on my face - but this could be partially because I haven't concentrated on the body skin condition enough in the past few years as compared to the attention I pay my facial skin - hence my desire to buy the body sponge rather than the facial sponge.I did not use cleanser with it, and did feel cleaner than if I had used a "regular" sponge with no cleanser. But, as I did my final rinse off, I noticed that upper chest area was NOT fully exfoliated - skin cells were balling up as I rubbed for rinsing, like I hadn't showered or exfoliated in days. I ended up having to use my shower puff on my chest area to get it done. This area is one area I do have a history of having to pay extra attention to for exfoliation, so it wasn't some weird out of the blue thing to have this happen, but I was a little disappointed that the results on my body were far less spectacular and immediately noticeable as my face had been.But, on the other hand, it didn't dry out my skin, didn't leave it feeling over-oiled or leave a residue behind, and was very very simple and comfortable to use.In the future, I do intend to continue using this sponge. But when it is at the end of its life, I will most likely buy one for the face, as they are slightly cheaper (albeit slightly smaller as well).

When I first got this sponge I was fairly pleased with it. It gets really soft when it is wet ... I mean REALLY soft. While this was a downside for me as I was hoping for it to be at least a little resilient, it has proven to be a real issue when after only using it for two weeks it has split in half on the ridged side all the way through to the top "rougher" portion. And I use quotes because it is really not rough at all but is of a different consistency so not quite as flimsy as the bottom half. So basically after 2 weeks of use it is pretty much shot. It does feel soft on the skin though so that's why I am giving it 2 stars.Follow-up posted 12/10/15: Having seen my review above, the company offered to send me a replacement sponge which I accepted. Upon receiving it, there was an additional brochure inside which I read and it had a clear warning not to WRING the sponge. Unfortunately I did wring the original one -- gently -- but I did wring it so it is possible that I damaged it. When I saw this, I went to the original packaging which was a plastic sealed bag and looked at the use instructions. On that it said only to rinse it and let dry. I was surprised it did not say not to wring it. But upon further inspection, at the very bottom in very small print was the warning not to wring. Thank you for sending me the new sponge ... I will definitely not wring this one! But you might want to change that warning and put it in the actual instructions for use section so others will see it. I am changing my rating to 4 stars after this.

I purchased this sponge on March 3, 2015. It was shipped quickly and very well packaged. I've never had any problems with my skin until this past winter. I had to switch soaps and thought that I would try out a sponge. After researching different type sponges from several different companies, I decided to try the Red Clay Konjac Sponge. The sponge is very smooth and glides well over the skin. I use a liquid body wash and the sponge soaks up the body wash and lasts until I'm finished bathing, unlike other sponges I've tried where I've add to add additional body wash to the sponge before finishing bathing. I've used this sponge almost daily, except for the 3 weeks while I was away on vacation. The sponge will dry up and swivel down in size considerably. Just hydrate with water several seconds and the sponge is back to life. Since using the sponge, along with changing my body wash / soap, my skin problems have decreased considerably. I've had no problems with the sponge up until about 2 weeks ago. That's when one end of the sponge started to fall apart. So, for the sponge to last about 7 months worth of using almost daily, I would consider that I got my money's worth, since the advertising states that the sponge should last 2-3 months. I like the sponge so well the just this past week, I have ordered another red clay sponge as well as charcoal sponge for my husband. I would highly recommend this company and the many colors of sponges that they offer.

I am a repeat customer for MY Konjac Sponge with Red French Clay. This sponge is excellent for sensitive mature skin and I use it for daily showers. It is gentle for use on the face, without harsh abrasive exfoliation.To preserve the longevity of the sponge, please follow the instructions by vendor on the proper way to rinse this sponge. Don’t squeeze and wring out the water after rinsing, but squeeze the water out of the sponge by using the flat palms of your hands. This method REALLY preserves the integrity of the sponge.
