I haul mine around occasionally and the weight is not a problem in those cases, but if I was hauling it frequently I might want a lighter machine. Review: so easy to use - I have arthritis in my hands so am unable to thread or use my old machine I could cry as this one is SO easy and I sewing again. The thread cutter is marvellous and the auto threader is great and so easy to use . I had stopped using this on my old machine as you had to hold it down while trying to thread, not on this one, you click it down and then have two free hands. its really quiet and stable and doesn't move about. The extras with this machine are really good too, 5 feet as well as an extension table, a quilters foot, a button hole foot and then all the normal things like spools, needles, screwdriver and brush etc. I would highly recommend this machine to anyone from a starter to an experienced sewer. It has 59 stitches, a start/stop button, needle up/down button and an auto thread cutter. it was especially made for a quilter so you can alter the foot for thicker material.
