So I took the commitment to chair my Saturday morning AA meeting for the month.It’s a men’s meeting and we have some really long winded guys in the group. It was starting to get out of hand. And I hate cutting someone off when they’re sharing. But I had to do something.So I got this thing. And I announced at the beginning of the next meeting that we all need to be more cognizant of how long we are talking. Everyone got a big kick out of it.And here’s the funny thing. I never flipped it over once. Just put it on the podium and left it alone. And it worked. Everyone was very respectful of the time that they took.Awesome.Look, it’s an inexpensive little hourglass that is pretty accurate to five minutes. The bright green color keeps it noticeable. And it’s a great reminder to people that you are “on the clock”. Even when you really aren’t. lolI would buy it againThanks for reading

i am very happy with this product.I am a 45 year old fully grown man (not exactly a schoolboy anymore…) but i use this product the same way it’s used with school children: to help me focus on work-related tasks, and manage my ADD. This sand timer is durable, it also came very well packaged, it has easily visible sand-flow; very accurate and the sand does not get stuck mid-flow as often happens with sand timers. very light weight, so it’s easy to flip; and very stable on the desk (also a frequent problem with sand timers, although not as frequent with timers which are encased as this one). Very happy with this product. Totally worth the money .

This a BIG easy to see 2 minute sand timer. Blue sand in a clear timer. Turn it over and over for 2 minutes. I purchased it to help my grandsons time the proper tooth brushing. Works like a charm. Very easy to see and understand. Only thing it doesn't do is "ding" when it's done.

My wife is a Middle School Teacher and was looking for a 5 minute sand timer to help time activities to keep students on track. Her requirements were (1) Sand Timer (2) Pretty - either Green or Blue (3) It must be accurate (4) It must be able to withstand middle school kids without breaking. (5) It must be SAFE for a school environment. Requirement 1 was met - it is a sand timer!! Requirement 2 - She LOVES the color. Very cool green. Requirement (3) We timed it against a stop watch and it ran exactly 5 minutes (very surprising). Requirement 4 - After numerous weeks in school, it is still working without issue, no damages at all. Requirement 5 - No Glass. Very Safe! The timer is about 5 1/2 inches tall and the green really makes it stand out and visible. My wife is very pleased with the product.Reviewed by G. Swanson

This is a fight savior! I have two young kids who of course always want what the other has. Sometimes taking turns happens on its own but there are those days... you know those days... Anyway, we take out this timer and one holds it while the other plays then they trade. It works freaking miracles for us PLUS its durable so it take the abuse the one with the timer gives it while angelically waiting for their turn (ha!). It's been chucked and stepped on and licked and yes, bitten and it still looks like new. And the color is really mesmerizing and on one very long afternoon I found my husband entertaining himself while "watching" the kids just watching the grains of sand fall from one place to the other.

I have been searching for a small timer for sometime. I read a lot of review. We love it is simple and easy to use, without worrying be dropped on the floor.

I read on the site that this timer can be used to set a time limit for kids who cannot yet tell time. I bought it to settle disputes between young siblings as to how long each gets to play with a given toy.When I took it out of my suitcase my 5yr old granddaughter knew it immediately - we use this in kindergarten for playing with Gloria! That puzzled me till she explained that Gloria is their pet hampster. Everyone gets one turn of the timer and then must pass Gloria on. If it works for Gloria it should work for us!

The timer is much larger than I thought when originally ordered, which is great. It is about the size of a regular soda can, maybe a bit taller. Sides are made of a softer acrylic, making it very durable. My 5 year old has dropped it from the bathroom sink a few times and it is holding up well. The 2 minute timer is about 2:05, but that is fine for my use case.

Visually, it's great. But if you need accuracy you should look somewhere else. I checked it a few times and comes in around 56/57 seconds. IMO, that's a fairly significant problem since its sole objective is for timing 60 seconds.

I really thought this was an overpriced item but for my purposes it has turned out to be worth it. My 8 year old son uses it when brushing his teeth. Timers on brushes don't work for him - he's a very visual person. This has been a game changer. No more fights. Wish I'd thought of this years ago.
