Reese's Review of Angel Fire
Angel Fire was nothing like I imagined. The entire book was filled with conflict, so many twists, turns, waring emotions, sinister plots, and amazing passion I honestly could not but this book down. All of this made this book even more amazing. I could not put this book down. There was never a dull moment while reading Angel Fire.Characters:Willow and Alex's life are waay more complicated in this story. They are both dealing with a load of discrimination and leadership problems from the other AK's which leaves Willow virtually alone, and Alex extremely stressed. Then enter new hottie half angel Seb. Seb causes a whole set of relationship problems for Alex and Willow. I never thought I would end up loving Seb as much as I loved Alex, but L.A. Weatherly did an amazing job writing him I couldn't help but love him. Willow is also dealing with problems with her angel half. So here life is completely frantic. The other AK's you may or may not end up liking towards the end, but I definitely did not like them most off the book. The Angel's are a lot more sinister in this book, if you can believe that. This book is amazing. I would highly suggest you pick this book up as soon as possible. I however, would not suggest reading this book before reading Angel Burn. Angel Burn comes first and sets up the world for Angel Fire.Angel Fire is a bigger book than Angel Burn by almost 200 pages. The paperback version comes out October 23rd if you only like paperback.Favorite Quote: This quote was extremely hard to pick because I had so so many but here it is. I chose this quote because this quote shows that even though their life is harder they still love every part of each other, which is why I fell in love with them as characters in the first place"I kissed his nose. "You have a very nice nose; are you aware of this fact?"He laughed for the first time in days, warming me like a hot drink on a winter's evening. "No, I can't say that I am. I don't think my nose has ever gotten a compliment before.""Poor nose. I deserves lots of compliments." I kissed it again.Alex shook his head with a grin. "My nose and I both thank you.""

Absolutely Outstanding, even for a 55 year old former Soldier!!!
L. A. Weatherly is an outstanding writer with a pension for writing from the heart, even if it's gut-wrenching at times! The way this 2nd part of the story played out was perfect, with, both, love for a girl and the love for humanity! I can relate to this. When I became a Ranger, then a Special Forces Operator, I chose to not get into long term relationships for fear of falling in love; I couldn't and wouldn't have her sitting at home waiting for an Army Chaplain showing up and telling her Thank You for your Husband's service but he gave his life for his country. I tried it one time; about 6 months and thought that thought through and left in the middle of the night, and said never again. I felt like Alex knowing that pull of combat for the greater good and was willing to live my life in solitude after Government Service. After I was wounded for the 4th time, and it was clear I would be fighting no more, I retired wiling to keep my end of the bargain. Who would know in 2011, when I was getting ready to finally turn my Time of Service Retirement papers in, I met her Lisa, my wife now! I've actually found happiness and peace after all the 30 years of fighting and she helped me come to grips with all the life I had taken in war, again I felt like Alex. This had such a twist of a great ending! I kept thinking come on Alex you're smart, figure it out, I would've done what Willow did for fear of hurting the one I love and that, to me, was the premise of this book; Unconditional Love. Of course, the action, the suspense of this series is overwhelming, I'm a writer now of the Fantasy Genre, usually in can see these things coming, but I didn't see it like that, I love to be surprised by a writer, that's what makes them great, on to the next one, I'll talk to you then...

Superb Storytelling
I am greatly impressed by this powerful, compelling sequel to Angel Burn. The author really stepped it up a notch and her talent shines through even brighter as the story of Alex and Willow continues. The surprises, drama and twists are masterfully crafted. We meet new characters who bring a permanent change in the lives of those we already know. Seb is a wonderful, compelling character. Willow grows and becomes a young woman of even stronger conviction than she was before. Mexico City provides a colorful and gritty backdrop to the combined action and personal drama. I felt the pattern of alternating perspectives flowed well and I did not have any trouble following it. (Even though the chapters are not titled with a name to make it clear, as is done in many books currently). The way the action and drama are written just makes them feel so real, almost jumping off the page, like you are there. You hardly want to stop turning the pages to see what happens next. Even the "villanous" angels with malevolent intentions are vivid characters who's viewpoint we are drawn into clearly. Weatherly has her own unique touch with YA love, making Alex and Willow's relationship seem so natural, deep, and unequivocal. I enjoy the way they think of each other, treat each other, and communicate with each other despite the drama and some estrangement that occurs between them in this installment. Overall, I highly recommend this!

This book was a firery action packed novel that was full of enscutiating detail and lots of nail biting moments. I loved the characters and the plot of the story, so very unique from other books about Angels. Honestly it was a breath of fresh air from the usual supernatural category. This book was amazing filled with silly moments and also very deep moments that made you stop and think. I have very mnuch loved this book, and I have read it so many times after I finished reading it through, always hunting for some small detail I didn't see the first few times I had read it.

Unusual, unique, lasting impression
I purchased this NA fantasy book years ago upon first release, but when the audio book came out, I had to have it too. It's such a lasting intricate apocalyptic tale I read the series several times and now own the audio set. The narration was excellent and characters consistent throughout the series.

Enthralling read!
Following on directly from the end of the first book Angel Fire is no less exciting and action packed! We see the characters grow and interact with each other as the story picks up pace and new people join their sphere. Pressure to bring an end to The Angels hold on Earth intensifies throughout the book and the epic climax is only overshadowed by the knowledge their is more to come...how long can the Angel Killers keep running and keep surviving....This is a must read story - it holds the reader enthralled from beginning to end

Amazing second book in the 'Angels' series.
"Angel Fire" is the second book in the "Angel" Trilogy by L.A Weatherly. The book carries on from where the last book ended, and would not be a book you could read as a stand alone. The story revolves around Willow, a half-angel and her boyfriend, Alex an Angel Killer (AK), and their mission to rid the world of the angels who are here to take over the Earth, feeding off people. In the second book we are introduced to some new characters including Seb, another half-angel, who has been searching for Willow his whole life.Seb is in love with Willow, and with Alex now training new AK’s who distrust her, Willow is beginning to feel alienated. Only Seb is there for her, bringing on a love triangle.I didn’t much care for Seb. I understood how much he was in love with Willow and that he has been searching his whole life for her, but I couldn’t connect with him and I certainly didn’t want Willow leaving Alex for him.The book is more in depth than the first and we get to find out more about the character’s lives, and what they’re really capable of.I love Alex and his no-nonsense, tough, gets-the-job done characteristic. He’s the type of person you would want to be around in a dangerous predicament.Willow is coming of age and although she is a young, determined, strong woman, she also has a lighter, softer side to her that is confused by the whole, ‘Alex and Seb’ situation.Keeping me gripped in its pages and taking me on an emotional roller-coaster, "Angel Fire", is on a par with the first book in the Trilogy. Willow and Alex’s love for one another is evident throughout, even when they’re at loggerheads with each other.Fast-paced throughout, and lots of action, will help keep you engaged with the story. I understand that this is a YA, paranormal book, but at 700 pages long it didn’t feel nor read like a YA book.I loved this series so much that I read the three books in a week.

Such An Amazing Sequel - Action-Packed, Addictive, Awesome!
Willow is half-human, half-angel. She's not meant to exist. Only she does. And now that the angels know about her... now that there are even more of them than ever before... Well, they are not happy about Willow's existence - not happy at all.But she has Alex, the boy she loves by her side. As an Angel Killer, he's the best person to keep her safe as the Church of Angels ruthlessly hunt for her.And it's only going to get worse. Among the second wave of angels were The Twelve: the oldest, most powerful angels around - the original angels. And they will stop at nothing to kill her.So Willow and Alex head for Mexico, looking to start up a new band of Angel Killers. It's there they find and join forces with the few surviving AKs... and it's there he two start to drift apart. The AKs don't trust her, and Willow is struggling with her inner angel. And then she meets Seb. He has been looking for Willow his whole life, desperate to find her and only her, desperate not to be alone anymore.Because Seb is a half-angel too. And he believes that he and Willow belong together. Will the band survive long enough to kill The Twelve? And If they do, will they all make it our alive - and with their hearts fully intact...?I finished Angel and instantly bought Angel Fire. The second it landed on my doorstep, I leaped on it like it was a book made of chocolate. And I was just instantly hooked, two-hundred-and-fifty pages through before I even knew it. It was so, so addictive. I can't even really put my finger on why it was so hooking, but it was. I gobbled it up in one go: it was so much fun! And yes, there were niggles, but it really had more good points than bad ones. And even the bad ones, somehow, didn't bother me overly.Like the love triangle. Love triangles are like my biggest pet peeve in the world. They always seem so needless, a way of adding suspense and plot when normally it isn't needed. And then there's the whole teams thing, and I often end up being on the other side than my friends. I remember years ago, my best friend and I arguing over Twilight Teams. I, being firmly Team Edward, argued strongly about his merits, while she argued Jacob's. After many arguments, the only thing I conceded to was that in the movies, Jacob has his top off more and has lots of muscles. I think she gave in to the fact that Edward would never hit on a girl who was with someone else. Which leads to my other hatred: I hate the idea of someone getting hurt, even if they are just fictional. And someone always gets hurt. Always always always. Angel Fire... no different. Hurt. God, too much hurt... *sigh*Now, those of you who've read my Angel review will know that I adore Alex. God, he's just so... yum. So Alex. I just love him - his strength and determination and sweetness... Just everything about him. And how hard everything was on him just broke my heart. I wanted to give him a big hug; I just love him so much. But nonetheless, I also really, really loved Seb. He'd had such a hard life and he was so... Seb. I admired the way he handled the situation, how sweet and funny he was. His cheeky fictional tales killed me! He was just really sweet and a brilliant character and I loved him too, though I'm still Team Alex...Willow, I felt, came into her won in this one. She was kinda more kickbutt and harder. More willing to do the hard things that needed doing. She was also sweet as ever and always there for Alex. I felt so bad, the way those others were treating her. I was just like, `Hey! She's better than any of you gits!' Cause it's true. She is. She's such a sweet and great female lead. But all the other characters... Well, not a fan. I absolutely hated all the other AKs because they were just so horrid to Willow, even though she'd done nothing wrong, ever. It was like: `Oh, you were born like this so we hate you even though that's not who you really are.' Kara in particular rubbed me up the wrong way. As for the main baddie Raziel... well. I hated him. He was terrifying. Dangerous. Oddly petty for an ancient supernatural being... *shudder*But the relationship between Willow and Alex in this one... I preferred it, issues aside. It was more real, more believable. Slightly less sickly. I just love the two of them - they just belong together, are so freaking cute together... Sigh. The cuteness could kill me, though it was a lot better in this one...As for Willow and Seb. Well, I hate love triangles and insta love but it all seemed to work in Angel Fire. I really liked the bond between the two of them: it was sweet, touching. And you could get why the just click connected when you remember they are the only two of their kind ever (that we know off...). And yes, I hated the triangle because I knew one of them would get hurt but in an odd way I can't imagine it being different. As for how it turned out... Well. You're just gonna have to read and find out.Weatherly's writing is too awesome. I love split perspectives and we had so many again in this! First person Willow and then third person from Alex, Seb and Raziel, the angel we don't like at all. It was fascinating, reading from all their POVs: I loved it. And Weatherly's writing is gorgeous too, though the split thing trumps that. The plot... well, it was slightly slower, often with loads of conflicted moments that were more of a psychological nature rather than a suspense one. But when the action kicks off, when all the suspense starts, when everything got going... I dare you to put it down. If you can, you have more willpower than I do, that's for sure. As for that ending... Oh. My. Freaking. God. When is Angel Fever out? Cause I need it so freaking bad it's untrue. But again may I just say how I love this world. Angels that are bad, harmful, evil... I haven't come across anything so original since the zombies in the Revenant series or the vampires in VA. It's just so freaking awesome! Squee and yay to Weatherly's world! I could literally happy dance for how refreshing and different and awesome it is!So yes, Angel Fire had its setbacks just like Angel did. But it also had believable and wonderful character growth, an awesome and exciting plot, gorgeous and addictive writing, and the coolest angel world ever known to man. Plus, it's fun. So, so, so much fun. And, really, that's all you want in a paranormal isn't it? Besides, that suspense, that excitement, those characters. Oh, I could just gobble it all up. Hey, I did! I read this seven hundred page bad boy in a matter of sittings. And I so recommend it to everyone. All paranormal lovers everywhere. Just get past the niggles and enjoy. Cause it's awesome! Now when's Angel Fever out? Gimme gimme gimme!Man. I so badly have angel burn...

Overall a great story
It took me a long time to read Angel fire, the second book in the Angel trilogy, because of my dislike for love triangles, though now I have learnt to not judge the story until I have finished it.In this book we meet a few more characters. As Willow and Alex escape Denver after the second wave hit and there attempt to blow up the gate, they flee to Mexico where they encounter Kara, a Ak from Alex's fathers old camp and her troop of angel seers; Sam, Trish, Liz, Brendon and Wesley and then we meet Seb another half angel that has been searching all his life for mysterious half angel girl he is aware of and know he loves, even if he has never seen her in his life, until now.The guys have learnt that 12 special council angels came through the gate in the second wave and if they are killed, then all the angels are killed, because of the psychic bond they hold over the rest of the angel population. So the Ak concentrated on training and planning to kill the 12 though there is betrayal, lies, spies, plots and scheming going on let alone broken hearts, mistrust and divided lines.I must admit the story for me got a little stale in the middle during the plotting and scheming, though the story over all was fab, well written and the ending will leave you wanting to read more to find out what will happen! And now I will read the last book in the trilogy Angel fever.

Sets the AK world on fire
I was waiting for what seemed like eons for the second book in the Angel series. It was worth the wait. The book continued from where Angel left off, having just failed to stop the second wave of angels coming through the portal, WIllow and Alex are on the run. You see, these are not good angels, but aura sucking monsters from another dimension....yes really.Despite the some what weak basis for the stories, Weatherly manages to engage the reader from page one. Half angel Willow is a fiesty, stubborn and powerful lead, none of the weak bella type female to be found here. Thats not to say that twilight fans won't like it, I'm sure they will. Willow manages to find herself in the middle of a war, but also in the middle of two guys, the ever faithful angel killer Alex and newly found fellow half angel, Seb. Weatherly not only manages to keep the reader wondering who she's going to choose, but also keeps the reader changing their own mind as to who she should go for.Alongside this triangle, there is also the bigger issue of the angels, and willow and Alex find themselves in Mexico City preparing for battle.Without spoiling the ending, I will say that all does not go as expected and the AKs are left with a big dilemma. Another cliff hanger, and I'm stuck waiting for book three.....Well worth a read, as long as you don't expect a literacy masterpiece, you get a rollercoaster of a story, love, death and more. Brilliant.
