Works as well as devices costing a lot more - will automatically lock off the rope in a incident.
Great value for money - performs on a par with more expensive devices. Bought on the recommendation of two fellow members of my Mountaineering Club. There is a definite technique to master and paying out to a lead climber and lowering can be a bit jerky until you have developed the muscle-memory. I suggest you practice at the local climbing wall. It definitely fails-safe, if a fall pulls you off-balance and you completely release the rope, the weight of the falling climber auto locks the device until manual intervention releases it. Doesn't get the full 5* because:It needs practice needed to get proficientIt can be quite clattery when in use.It needs completely removing from the belay karabiner when threading (potential for losing it on a multi pitch climb) That said, there is an add-on which carries a small tie-on loop.

Single-rope belay device
This is pre-use, so not a definitive review. It was time to consider a 1-rope device, and this is closer to my old ATC than a Gri-gri would be. Looks well-made/designed and easy to adapt to, but some climbing is needed to be sure.

Simple to use
A hreat device.Vey simple and excellent for indoor lead climbing. Lowering your climber takes a bit of getting used to but its well made and very effective when you get used to it. Ive used it mainly indoor and in trad and it functioned well. It is single pitch but I think you can get it in multi pitch
