Works well
My second purchase of this model. The other one is used to pump gasoline from cans into my classic car and has served well for several years. I bought a second one for pumping water. We really could have used it during the 2021 Great Texas Deep Freeze. We were lifting 5 gal buckets of water and this would have made it so much easier. We could have pre filled the bathtub and pumped from there. Happy with product. It will pump faster if the receiving vessel is lower than the sending vessel, but it will work the other way as well, just slower. The D cell powered units are really more powerful than the A cell powered units.

Almost Perfect
I have a tractor that fills with fuel from on top of the hood. As I get older, lifting a 5 gal can of diesel is getting heavier and heavier. This pump is perfect- especially for the price. It empied a full can in just over 5 min.I have to place the can on a stool so the hose reaches the fill port on the hood. I wish the fill hose and/or the pump shaft where a little longer, but everything else is perfect. I probably will use this twice a month and figure if it lasts 2 years or so, it is well worth the price.

Love it!
I have a bad back and mowing the lawn is bad enough without lifting a five gallon can of gas every time I need to mow.I just lift the gas can one time onto a stool next to the mower, place the pump end of the gizmo into the gas can and the other end into the gas filler spout of the mower, and turn it on. The rest is magic. It is supposed to turn off automatically; however, I found it to be too large to fit far enough into the spout for it to hit the gas fill line of the mower, but now worries, you should be paying close attention when you fill anything anyway.I read some reviews about the batteries not lasting long, but the instructions clearly state to remove them after each use. They are very easy to insert and remove, so I don't think this should be an issue if you use good alkaline batteries, but we shall see. So far, I absolutely love it, and so does my back!

great tool for any liquid transfer
Awesome tool for transferring any liquid. Easy to use, transfers gas or water pretty quickly and shuts off automatically. No spills. Perfect for refueling lawn mowers, trimmers, chain saws. I would buy two, one for gasoline and one for water. If you need and use a tool like this for refueling or transferring any liquid you will be very happy with this product. The batteries last quite a long time but I wish it was rechargeable.

Does not always work
pain in the butt to use sometimes. will be pumping clear water and randomly get the beeping sound and pump stops. i have 3 of these and they all do it. i use it to transfer water from a large tub to 5 gallon buckets. i dont get a gallon transfered before the dreaded beeps start. then you have to turn it off drain it out and pray it starts working again. more often than not it just beep again when you turn it back on. Does it with fresh batteries, dead batteries, in liquid, out of liquid, aggravating to say the least. but not much other option for this type of pump except the AA version which so far is much much better

I Made the Right Pump Choice!
I am a person who believes in performing maintenance on my tools and equipment year round to insure that my purchased items are always functional and in as near new condition as is possible. Such was the reason that I decided to purchase a Terapump. I wanted a pump that I could use to remove fuel from my yard tool machines and especially for my Backup Generator. I drain these fuel tanks prior to the winter season and refill then when spring rolls around. The Terapump was perfect for my needs. I received the pump, read the directions, inserted the required battery's and decided to empty my generator fuel tank. I found the pump to work very simply and adequately. Once the fuel transfer was completed, I pumped a couple of gallons of water through the pump to clear out and dilute any fuel that remained in the pump, let it dry and set it up for the next need or use. I would recommend the Terrapump to anyone needing to pump fluids.

very happy.
The previous owner of my current home left an old Tera Pump battery operated pump behind. I had been using it ever since (3 Years) until it recently failed. My neighbor said that the he had been living next door for fifteen years prior to my moving in and had borrowed the pump twice each year from the previous owner to drain the fuel tanks of his lawn mower and snow blower. The previous owner was quite an outdoor enthusiast and used it for his yard equipment as well as boats and ATVs. I've only used this new one once, but if it performs as well as the one it is replacing I will be very, very happy.

Auto shut off dosent work
So there are two downsides to this pump..1. The hose is too short, the gas can has to be lifted up in some applications.2. The auto shutoff never worksSo you can solve number 1 because number 2 dosent work by fitting a length of clear fuel hose to the end to get the hose to where you need it to be.Otherwise it works well.
