Wonderful Osprey Aether Ag (Anti-gravity) 70 Backpack - size medium!!
Wonderful Osprey Aether Ag (Anti-gravity) 70 Backpack - size medium!! Husband, who is 5 ft 9 inch tall & 185 Lbs, got a medium pack for his AT hiking trip. Read how to order size for a good fit. It held everything very nicely, including a bear canister. Very adjustable and supportive in the "Anti-Gravity" design. He carried between 37 - 40 pounds of gear, food, water. The top is a "day-back-pack" in which you can store small easy to reach gear while it is attached to your back-pack, like first aid kit in ziplock, flashlight, etc. The 2 waist zipper pouches on the belt were perfect for lunch and snack food and folding knife, so he did not have to stop and get into bear canister during middle of day. Long zipper on outside of pack allowed to easy entry into pack and extra straps buckling across the outside gave place to hang the Crocs. Also large outer pouch was a great place to store rain jacket and pants. There are 2 outside "1 liter water bottle size " gear pockets too and that he used. Although pack has a great place for a flat hydration bottle on the outside of bag, behind the upper back, he did not use a flat hydration bottle this trip. Inside the bag is a separate flat long compartment along the back if you had flat gear to store in ziplock bags. There is a separate zip sleeping bag / pad compartment at the bottom of the pack. Great backpack. While the backpack is water resistant, we also purchased the X-Large Osprey waterproof backpack cover because of the possibility of rain. It rained for 3 days of the hiking trip and the X-Large Osprey waterproof backpack cover was critical to all gear staying dry while hiking.

Great product at a great price!
Very durable and plenty of space. The detachable top backpack ensures this pack will allow you to be mobile and expeditionary during your hiking trips or various trips abroad. Very comfortable to wear, the frame comes in 3 different sizes depending on your height. Pack is very light weight with no gear inside, and also feels light weight fully loaded. Great product.

Osprey is the only way to go for backpacks
I've used this backpack on three separate multiple day trips in the Ventana Wilderness/Los Padres National Forest and in Kings Canyon National park. Osprey has really thought of everything. I really appreciate the clips for my key ring, the detachable summit pack, and the overall comfort of this bag. I also like the seamless shoulder straps that make the backpack ultra comfy on those long, difficult, 10+ mile days on the trail. The amount of places that you can adjust is also a novel attribute of this backpack. I only thing I'd say is that if you're planning to do more than 4 days on the trail, you'll want to get a pack with a higher volume. Mine is stuffed to the brim when I go for a trip of this length, and I have either the 60 or 65L version, can't remember of the top of my head. I'm having a difficult time thinking of anything else that I disliked about it, in fact, this backpack was the catalyst for me to purchase another osprey pack for my bike commute, which is equally wonderful. As I use the pack more I may update this review.

Osprey NAILED IT with this one!
This pack is AWESOME! I had the Atmos AG and replaced it with this Aether AG. This pack has the removable lid/day pack or summit pack. Very convenient if you want to also do some day hikes or not take full pack to summit. A ton of storage, SUPER comfortable and very purpose built. I just returned from 8 days in the Sierras and it performed flawlessly. No issues at all and it was packed full.

the only pack u should ever buy ! its by far #1
this backpack is everything it says it is and more. my girl and I rock hunt and we have been known to get down into some extremely hard to get to places and quite a ways from any people so when it comes time to pack out its a little grueling. the pack states 40- to 60 lbs for it load range. I'm telling you right now I loaded 100 pounds of rocks and ...and! all of my camping gear and made one trip rather than several. when I got home I stepped on the scale my weight 156. with the pack was 286 that means my pack had 130 pounds in it and it never ripped torn or even popped a seam and it was not hurting me like my old pack with 40 or 50 pounds in it... this pack is worth every single dollar and then some and ill never buy another brand ever ! this pack is made to be a part of u and do what you do. and it does it very very well ! top of the line by far !

I wish it was lighter
The Osprey Aether AG 70 pack is very comfortable. It carries all of the necessities (and More), that I want. It has great side pockets, to carry your water bottles or other items. It does have a compartment, between the pack and shoulder straps, that will hold your Hydration Reservoir, if you like carrying one... It is Tough enough, that you have very little worry of it falling apart, due to dropping, or hitting rough limbs, or rocks. If it was a bit lighter, in weight, I would have given it a 5 Star rating.

GREAT pack for PHOTOGRAPHY / backpacking
I'm an avid landscape photography hobbyist and this bag has been perfect for backpacking/camping/hiking with a moderate loadout of gear.- Able to pack all I need for camping in the Large version of this bag IN ADDITION to a camera cube, containing: Fujifilm X-T2, XF 55-200, Rokinon 12mm, XF 16-55mm, NiSi filter pouch and filter holder pouch, batteries, and other miscellaneous peripherals.- The J zip gives me great access to the gear at quick notice, and the anti-grav shoulder and hip straps make loads of 40-60lbs very manageable.- Very easily carry a carbon fiber travel tripod via the side straps.- Peak Design Capture clip fits great on the shoulder strap; unfortunately doesn't work well with the hip belt.Very highly recommended for you landscape photographers out there!

Simply put, this pack is great!
Inspired to write a review after using this pack for the first time. Simply put, this pack is great! I've been backpacking for 35 years and I don't think I've had a pack fit this well. I'm 5' 6" tall (or not tall😆) and after referring to the sizing chart I ordered a medium. It was a perfect fit and was comfortable the entire hike. The pack top that converts to a day pack was super convenient and easy to figure out. Highly recommend this pack, two thumbs up!
