Does the smell last long? Original?

The original 2016 ver of this the small lasts for ages but the new formula one seems to have gone down hill and the small does not last as long. I have both bottles new and old Formula. It seems most company’s do this once a fragrance gets established and they start to use cheaper Ingredients

In the additional information, it says "1A batteries required" What is this for? Also is this a legitimate item or a copy of the original?

I never needed batteries not sure what that about
