It said it was rechargeable but i opened the case and there are NO rechargeable batteries in there/? are some supposed to come with it?

This won't work, its the size of a magazine.

A simpler remote would be good. The clock timer takes some time to figure out and doesn’t really get faster to operate.

So, this GAN XIN Basketball Digital Scoreboard is a cool idea, but it's hindered by being smaller than it looks. Like, slightly bigger than a legal size piece of paper. Yes, the colors are bright & you can increase the brightness with the remote control, but if you're looking at this from a distance across a basketball or volleyball court, you are going to have a hard time seeing the scoreboard. It's nice that this has all the features of a traditional scoreboard with home vs guest points, countdown clock, period & etc. And I can appreciate its mobility of being able to plug it into an outlet for power or take it on the go with you using batteries. But it's still a small viewing area. I'd recommend something like this for a one on one game of table tennis or beer pong, but nothing that's on an actual court -- even with the tripod stand.

The ~10"x15" scoreboard works perfectly for our basketball team during practices. The stand was easily screwed on to the base of the scoreboard, and while small, the stand keeps the scoreboard upright without issue. After plugging in the scoreboard (we don't have the required 18650 batteries at home), we were able to power the scoreboard on and operate to with the included remote control (requires 2 AAA batteries).While there aren't controls on the scoreboard itself, it was easy to use the remote to set the clock, change the period, and update the score. The remote works well from a decent distance as well; my husband was able to use it to change the score while on the court during an in-practice scrimmage without issue.This is exactly what we were looking for - a portable digital scoreboard that we could easily take from gym to gym for practices. Everyone on the court could see the illuminated screen with the high level of contrast between the background and illuminated numbers. The only thing that would have made this better would have been a carrying cas, but we're using a basic laptop carrying case to store the scoreboard. I'm so glad that I ordered this!
