It's smooth like a dry erase board but it still works great with chalk markers so it's not such a bother! You have to give the paint time to dry or it'll smudge and smear everywhere, but comes off very easily with a wet wipe. Good size & came as expected other than surface texture. Even still I am pleased with this purchase! 🙂

Product arrived on Saturday, for my daughter's first day of preschool on Monday. Board arrived bent, and I'm now left without a board to use for my daughter's first (ever) day of school. The box/packaging was in perfect shape, which means the board was bent when packaged - I was intentionally/knowingly sent a defective product. Board is very thin, and not at all like a chalkboard. It more closely resembles a dry erase board. Had it not been bent I likely would have kept it, because the design is cute, just poor quality.

Best invention ever! My daughter started her school year for kindergarten and adores unicorns so I couldn't resist getting this. It has all the cute areas ready to be filled out and a white chalk marker. The surface is super easy to write on and clean with a barely damp cloth. There is a first day and last day since it is double-sided. It is the right size for her to hold and still see her face above it.
