Opal Glass Hand blown, opal glass shades appear white when unlit and take on the hue of the light bulb when lit. Review: A well made light fixture - Item looks great in our bathroom. Should state more clearly which wattage of light bulb is best in fixture -- we had to experiment. 60 watts is best. Installation instructions were ok, but did not completely match the wiring in our powder room -- had to ask a friend to help after shorting out when installed by me. Great looking fixture.
